They killed theirs off a long time ago.

It’s true, most Europeans really do not ‘get’ what the Americas (or Australia) are like in terms of bigness, and land, and animals, and etc.

I think a balanced view is in order though. I don’t want me and mine eaten by a bear. But I don’t think it’s a good idea to get rid of all bears just because one might eat me.
