re: #244 NukeAtomrod

This will be my last attempt as well. In order for the GOP to be hypocritical, they have to have been spreading the message that the “Death Panels” were doctors providing end-of-life counseling, and simultaneously support end-of-life counseling.

But as I’ve shown, directly from the original source, “Death Panel” refers to a committee deciding whether or not an individual citizen deserves treatment in the nationalized health care industry. Rep. Charles Boutany did not sponsor legislation to nationalize the health care industry (which would result in government rationed health care), so therefore it is not a case of hypocrisy.

I have to get some sleep, so I won’t respond further tonight. I will come back tomorrow morning to read any comments you leave, so feel free to challenge my assertions if you wish.

There was never a committee “deciding whether or not an individual citizen deserves treatment in the nationalized health care industry.” I don’t think even Sarah Palin said that. Additionally, I never suggested that Charles Boutany endorsed nationalizing health care.
