are you suggesting the beginnings of a real backlash against the most “conservative” forms of islam? because it does not appear to be an “anti terrorism” thing since syria is a major state terrorism sponsor. Or could this be some small sign of success by our administration and its attempt to wean syria away from iran.

I wasn’t sure where to place it, and then the Syria thing came up. I now see it as a way to control segments of society, the left say it is for their own good, the right say it is a sign of terrorism.

Both are trying to control, and with Syria, control is important I guess, now I need to do some research.
Full disclosure: If there were indeed WMD’s they are now somewhere in Syria.
