I forgot Robbins was awarded a Best Supporting Oscar, but he deserved to win the Big One.

I’ve never read Lehane’s books, but my wife, the mystery reader in the family, liked some of them. Some of them she didn’t like very much. In fact she was quite vocal about how much she didn’t like them.

I wondered what that sound was!

I’ve liked some more than others. Loved “Mystic River” and “Gone Baby Gone” and “Shutter Island,” and, as I mentioned “The Given Day” was one of my favorites. Being a “Bahstin” guy, I’d think you’d like his books—I don’t really think of him as a mystery writer, and “The Given Day” has a really interesting historical story—the Tulsa Riots, the Boston Police Strike…READ THE DAMN BOOK!!!
