Understood. That’s why I stated they should investigate first. Is the threat credible or is it a hoax? If credible, by all means shut down the school. But if it’s a hoax, it needs to be treated like this.

This story should not be limited to just the Seattle area. It should be sent to every school in the U.S. and the students told, you pull something stupid like this and it’s going to cost you and then follow through.

I completely agree about punishing those that create these situations. But when you don’t have time to investigate (the threat comes in shortly before the first bell) and the decision needs to be made at that moment, what are these administrators thinking about first? Safety of the students, or the headline if they decide to ignore it (and the threat turns out to be real)?

BTW, the LA school from Tuesday was a stunt developed on 8chan.
