re: #276 researchok

It never ceases to amaze how some people who embrace a right of center ideology of accountability and responsibility insist on giving corporations a free pass.

It’s really funny how conservatives are almost always liberal on economic matters, no (with the exception of some agrarian/southern conservatives like Wendell Berry, Russell Kirk, the Twelve Southerners, i.e. “Old Right”)? Conincidentally, if you do focus on economic issues, they do not even differ that much from neoliberals.

I do not want to see people or corporations punished for success. They just have to pay their fair share. The widows, orphans and other beneficiaries of corporate dividends and pensions (the real owners of the company) do not get the free passes the Class A shareholders get, etc.

Keep in mind that a lot of widows and orphans owe their very status to coprorations to begin with.

Also, I’m not keen on punishing heirs. I work hard and want to leave my daughter what I can. What’s wrong with that?

Nothing wrong with that. But there most be a rebalancing of earned versus unearned incomes from time to time.
