For what it is worth, it would have been very easy for the GOP to keep me as a reliable R voter. Minimal levels of competence and avoiding a total embrace of the most batshit insane elements of the party would have sufficed.

One thing that should be mentioned was the goodwill completely pissed away when the national Republicans started pumping money into the Akin campaign.

I wonder how many borderline women’s vote were lost when they decided Akin was so much more important to them than moderate women.
