I think the “gun violence” map is just the same as the voting map, and they faded the colors on the “voting map” to make them look different.

Obviously cities are going to contribute highly to gun violence, and we know that cities trend Democratic. One could probably make a map (properly weighted demographically, of course) to try to make this point in a technically correct albeit disingenuous manner (since it doesn’t control for so many relevant variables).

I think this map is just fucking fake.
