Based on my time in both community college and an university, that type of problem isn’t exclusive to community colleges. I’m in a sophomore level accounting class and 98% of the students couldn’t solve a basic algebra problem.
Funny you should mention that. We have to take some medical dosages tests (simple stuff, really), but it just ties some of my classmates in knots. The pasing grade used to be 90% until somebody realized what a bad idea it was to have your grads mess up 10% of their meds
