Obama’s diplomacy works so well - after he said the Israelis and Palestinians would start talks without preconditions,
Abbas:

No sh*t. The fundamental disagreement is, Israel wants to continue to exist as a Jewish state, and the Palestinians want to make it another Muslim Arab state.
You can’t get much more fundamental than that.

The question is, which side will Obama pressure? Or will he wash his hands of the whole thing, and tell Abbas to come back when he does want peace with Israel>

No matter who Obama pressures or does not pressure, will the Palestinians at any time in the near future accept Israel’s position regarding Jerusalem? Is Israel’s position in this regard subject to change?
