Honestly, it’s pretty much what I expect him to do. The Church is STILL The Church, after all. What surprises ME is that she’d want to meet with him, since she doesn’t consider him Christian.

I don’t see why you would expect him to meet her. There was no reason whatsoever for them to meet, regardless of the Pope’s views on SSM.
