And don’t blame the candidates for what works and what doesn’t in a campaign. Blame the voters.
I think the voters deserve most of the blame. We don’t hold our leaders to a very high standard and cheer stupid slogans and vapid rhetoric. If someone did decide to display real leadership and focus on complex issues and hard decisions I don’t think the public would like it very much. I would like to see our leaders try although I don’t think it would be well received.
