Because it’s making fun of Warren for claiming to be a “person of color” not Pocahontas. It’s sarcasm not racism. My initial comment about being offended with the comparisons to aunt Jemima was faux-outrage although I haven’t asked my wife what she would think of her grandfather being compared to Uncle Tom.

I don’t think that the distinction you’re making between the sarcasm and the bigotry is that clean.

Regardless, it’s juvenile. That’s why I don’t really think it’s something to be excused as “sarcasm.” I don’t take offense, I think it’s stupid.

If there’s some kind of legitimate issue here - I suppose something that people are saying is representative of her Warren’s character? - make the case.
