This is part of the kind of thing I think he’s getting at. When we have to have several degrees to do a job that a monkey could learn, what does that say about our society?

I have a master’s degree. The interview/hiring process for my part-time obit clerk job took 2 weeks.

I suspect if I had applied to McD’s, I wouldn’t have gotten the job, because “it’s beneath me” or some bullshit.

You know what’s beneath me? Starving to death, not paying my rent, etc.
