I know what you’re saying but goddamn it, I hate having to knuckle under like this. I hate promising things I know we can’t deliver since it’s going to bite us down the line. I hate trying to appease those who’ve made it clear in every possible way that they cannot be appeased, like Jill Stein openly threatening to prosecute Hillary for… who knows?

I guess we’ll just have to close our eyes and hope and pray that this works.

She’s not doing this to appease Jill Stein or Bernie.

She’s doing this for the voters who support these concepts, a large number of whom vote Democratic and care passionately about these issues. And those voters do matter. Not just to her but to the party as a whole.
