Easter is a time of self observation and renewal. If you can’t change how you do business on the day your Big Guy *rose from the dead* when are you going to do it?

But I’m not surprised. The Church hierarchy and bureaucracy are notoriously Conservative and hidebound. It’s one of the reasons I’m a former Mackerel Snapper.

It’s always the temptation of a large organization to try to bury inconvenient facts and people. But the Catholic Church needs to understand that they are well past that now. The problem my best friend pointed out is that they (in the US at least) can’t really afford full disclosure. They’d end up owning more money from lawsuits than they could possibly pay. He is harsh on the Church over the issue, but he’s also excellent at hard-headed analysis.
