I saw a discussion panel on TV last night, one of the participants being David maybe-he-has-a-spine-maybe-he-doesn’t Frum - he gave such a weasel-worded, concern-trollish response to a question on AGW that it made me wish you’d been on the panel to (rhetorically) smack him upside the head. When another panelist - Salman Rushdie - said that denier arguments were very much like creationist ones, Frum said “well, evolution isn’t an issue we’re being asked to spend trillions of dollars over”. When the show’s host brought up outright lies told by denier George Will (such as citing the “research” of a completely fictional study group), Frum pretty much said the reason conservatives did these things was because that oh-so-nasty Al Gore “exaggerated” about AGW’s effects.

In other words, tu quoque and concern-trolling wrapped up in a bow of flattened, freeze-dried fecal matter. I’m not normally a “yell at the TV” type, but it’s hard to hold back when faced with such intelligence-insulting idiocy.
