It would have been a lot better for the goopers in a number of places if they could have at least said “what Trump did was wrong, I wouldn’t have done it, but it’s not worthy of removal.” McConnell could have given out golden tickets left and right to vulnerable senators in electoral trouble. But the narcissistic insecure nutcase in the White House would never have tolerated even fake tactical opposition. He’d have sent the flying monkeys down on anybody who failed to kiss his ass and destroyed them. So here we are, and may the rotten shits in the Republican Senate choke on it.

i argued way back when that this should have been trumps strategy - - the only way to avoid the permanent stain and asterisk of impeachment

alas they chose not to participate and instead he’s impeached forever, no matter what the senate does

he will die believing he was exonerated while also knowing he wasn’t. and that shit dont wash out.
