I even go so far as to use different email addresses for different accounts. Multifactor-factor authentication helps too, but it’s a PITA. Besides, that too has it’s limitations. Nothing is 100% secure once it’s out there.
The most dangerous thing, from the point of view of security, is a complacent mindset. There is no perfect solution. Pretending otherwise is asking for issues.
I prefer to balance a reasonable level of paranoia without going overboard, and taking steps that are maintainable on a regular basis without requiring entry into a secure bank vault every time I want to do something.
On the flip side, my husband keeps a separate computer for dealing with financial websites.
