And in the meanwhile? No one is saying that alternate sources shouldn’t continue to be explored. However it would take more than 60 years to phase out all oil based products.

In the meanwhile, get the oil from a country that doesn’t hate you, isn’t harming women, gays and christians. Get the oil from a country that is already your largest trading partner. Get the oil from a country that is not supporting terror.

You are going to use the oil anyway. That is not changing in the short term. You can only change who you personally support while you do it.
