SF and Santa Cruz, although nice, are not good representatives of the weather in the overall Bay Area. They are definitely cooler microclimates in the bigger picture.

I, on the other hand, live in one of the hotter microclimates. And it sucks.

Ahhh I see. What about the Big Sur area? Or does that not count as Bay Area?
