AS A GENERAL RULE OF THUMB, if you are using it as a verb, it is affect and if you are using it as a noun, it is effect. (NOTE: there are special cases where this does not apply, but that will cover you 95+% of the time.)

What affects you has an effect on your life, so be sure to effect changes that improve your overall affect.
