That’s been going on here for a while with public water systems.
I got into an on-line argument with some out-of-state libertarian touting the benefits of private companies running water systems. I noted that if that is such a great model, how come all the towns around us that sold their water systems are now paying eight times or more for water with no improvement in service?
I was accused of being a socialist shill and lying. Doesn’t matter that this information is available from the state government… .
Here is a great book that covers this subject. At one time London had 7 private water suppliers and it would be impossible to get them all on the same page which was a recipe for a constant cycle of sickness. Being a water responsibility guy, I think you’ll appreciate it.
