And if you re: #562 chunkymonkey

Look, I really want to take your statements as all being genuine, but it’s really hard for me to do so when you start making those types of arguments. First off, most abortions aren’t nearly as invasive as you seem to be making them out to be and they are far less invasive than many other common medical procedures.

Right, but they ARE often more invasive than the sonogram procedure depicted above. The picture above is there solely to get an emotional rise out of the viewer. It serves no other purpose.

Second, when the target of attack is under attack, in part, because it’s a physically and emotionally invasive act forced on a woman against her will, uh, it’s hard not to involve emotion in that. It’s at the very heart of the issue.

Sure, that’s true. But I honestly don’t care about that. I don’t think a woman who is seeking an abortion should be subjected to ANY coercive measures.

Finally, all that aside, the way to fix an argument that’s overly emotional isn’t to make it even more emotional in some bizarre concept of balance. That’s ridiculous.

Ha! That was sort of my point. The way to fix it is to make it less emotional. The idiots in TX want to force women to undergo a sonogram for no reasonable purpose in order for them to get an abortion. For me, that’s it, I’m against it.
