BTW, for those who like to pretend that people who oppose torture hate America and hate our troops, this is one of the primary arguments against torture— it endangers US troops who are captured.

(I know you don’t think that way DF of course, I’m offering it up for those who do).

Fair enough, though the argument does not sway me. This will sound callus but I view the risk of such mistreatment as simply one that must be run. Do not ask about how I would feel about being on the receiving end of such treatment. My own convictions are Death Before Dishonor. I would kill myself before surrendering, or at least I’d like to think I would.
