The Crapo amendment on taxes just failed, 45 to 54. However, Sens. Blanche Lincoln, Evan Bayh, Ben Nelson, Maria Cantwell, and Amy Klobuchar — all Democrats — voted with Republicans.

The amendment offered by Sen. Mike Crapo (R., Idaho) [what a name] would toss Obamacare legislation back to the Senate Finance Committee to “strip all taxes on individuals who earn less than $200,000 and families earning less than $250,000.”

“The current health-care bill has several major problems but the most significant is its increase in taxes,” “That’s a direct violation of Obama’s pledge, so for both the Senate and the president, this amendment is critically important.” Says Crapo.
