Sorry, but what is Dondero lying about, then? Is he not telling the truth (that Paul wrote the newsletter) in order to make people believe that Paul did bear full responsibility for it?

I’m not saying Dondero is or isn’t lying about anything. Maybe he wrote some of the newsletters, maybe Ron Paul really did write them and to Dondero that is actually a positive thing and so he’s trying to take credit away from him. I don’t know. I don’t care how much of the newsletters Ron Paul wrote, since he bears responsibility for the contents and he defended the contents.

I’m pointing out that if you use the logic “This hostile witness is not telling the worst story he could, therefore the story must be true because if he were lying he’d tell the worst version” seems like an argument rife for abuse.
