One of the more instructive moments I’ve had in many years came post- 9/11, when many of my liberal friends who had otherwise found it in their hearts to love me all these years, found out I was not a moonbat. They were disillusioned, outraged, and apoplectic. Meantime I had known their sympathies all along and was willing to overlook it.

Who is the more open-minded?

Same here. I had some… trouble with a few people post-9/11. The ones worth dealing with I’m back in touch with or seeking to, the ones who weren’t worth it… dead to me after the treatment I got for not subscribing to either lefty-moonbatitis or quasi-trooferism.
