re: #63 Lidane

It’s not as hard as you think. I almost got fired from my current gig within the first month because I missed a single letter in an email address and ended up sending a sensitive advertising report to someone else by accident. I was VERY lucky that my client was overseas and the wrong address I sent that report to ended up being a dead address that wasn’t actually in use. I still had my work laptop confiscated and I had a very long weekend to sweat out whether or not I still had a job.

To this day, the COO reminds me of that single email. It almost cost me everything but he uses it as an example of how I have worked my ass off to overcome my mistake and have proven myself to the company.

I work for a large org with a very large mailing list. My first name starts with A and my last name is common, so I occasionally get mistaken email messages from other agencies, some of which have some incredibly sensitive information in them (nothing that could make me rich). I always just respond that they have the wrong person and then see how embarrassed/thankful a reply I get from them.
