Avanti wants to limit the word “tax” to the narrow definition (“a sum of money demanded by a government for its support or for specific facilities or services, levied upon incomes, property, sales, etc.).

The word has other definitions, one that applied to the car “tax”
(a burdensome charge, obligation, duty, or demand.)
