I find it harder to believe that no one involved in the decision to bring the Order of St. Pius back into the Church was aware of their extremist beliefs. As I said, their views have been well known for a long time.

Agreed, IIRC this is the order with which Mel Gibson and his dad are affiliated. But don’t confuse rescinding excommunication of individuals with accepting the actions of SSPX. The Pope is trying to get this outfit back into the church and under control of Rome.

Look at the self reported stats of this group at sspx.org. This group is growing. It’s better to get them into the church and under control of Rome than to let them continue on and give us more Gibsons and Williamsons.
