Exactly. Tapper’s not the kind of reporter who would try to goad a soldier into defending an unpopular war. And, even if you know nothing about Tapper, I think it’s fairly evident from the context. Once Luttrell seems to be offended by one of the questions, Tapper backs down in a nearly apologetic way. If anything, Tapper was quite deferential once he realized the interviewee was upset.
