I agree it’s much more than a local matter. I just know why DOJ would be hesitant to get involved. They’re going to do everything they can NOT to get involved by giving state and local government time and space to step in.

At this point, the Ferguson PD are just trying to outlast everyone. High fees for public records, refusing to comply with basic police procedures, refusing to confront the problems within the department, refusing to do anything useful, really. Just waiting for everyone to get bored and tired and move onto something else more sensational, like George Clooney’s wedding.
