19 pre-Boomer Marine brat  Sun, Feb 15, 2009 10:18:16am

Why the ongoing revolving door of characters on Saraa’s program? Maybe this is just a technical question. Why not develop a favorite character (as on Sesame Street) and stick with him/her? My hunch is that these programs are created by adults who don’t give a rat’s ass about the kiddie viewers.

/now … what else would support that hunch? … hmmmmmmmmmmm

Theodore Roosevelt is rolling in his grave.

Teddy Bear…………………in deed

33 lawhawk  Sun, Feb 15, 2009 10:20:30am

The teddy bear of terror. Hamas once again continues its genocidal indoctrination of kids into their nihilistic apocalyptic visions of a bleak future. They call for unending war and the destruction of Israel and all that it entails. It once again shows the insanity of anyone thinking that Hamas has any interest in peace with Israel and the supreme folly of hudnas and ceasefires with Israel that might lead to an enduring peace.

It cannot happen when Hamas continues to teach their children that it is far better to become jihadis and blow up Israeli kids than it is to live in peace alongside them.

re: #103 BigMoo

In many cases, the MSM and the other hard leftists have crossed the line from being useful idiots to deciding that ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend’. It’s a canard….and they don’t realize that while the two ideologies might share a common enemy, one of the two knows that once the common enemy is gone, the ideology that is remaining will be a easy victim…since those who have little or no true values will surrender as opposed to fight.

It is very absurd to the lengths and canards that the left will jump through. I know a lefty from Lebanon, a Christian, who will argue until she is out of breathe denying that islam subjugates women - pointing to examples throughout the ME of where women are educators, physicians, etc. She dismisses the accounts of abuse and honor killing as being just some bad people - associating that to examples of spousal abuse in our society.

Israel needs a mascot too. Or at least a symbol.

I suggest a giant banana, signifying that Israeli behavior has now made it a truism that the World considers Israel a Banana Republic.

From Europe and from the Obama Administration comes word that both would prefer -and are pushing for - a unity Government of Likud and Kadima.

Never mind what will result, Israel should look at itself and ask what they have done to diminish their status and respect so that the World now feels that they have a right to advise the Israeli voters of the makeup of their Government.

i have an acquaintance who is from bangladesh.
what the bangladeshi hindus are suffering at the hands of moslems in her country is just terrible.
losing their homes, their livelihoods, their lives because, as infidels they have no rights under islam
human rights groups and the u.n. don’t seem too concerned abt. that.
all over the world, minorities are suffering in islamic countries.
where is the out cry abt. the horrors confronting the coptic christians in egypt?
and the violence in sudan wasn’t even reported as moslems killing christians.
that was completely down played.
what is going on in israel is nothing but israel trying to stay alive.
this is twisted so insidiously by pc ignorant fools who turn a blind eye to the real danger that confronts civilization.
violent islam trying to subjugate and infect the world.

One more OT: Flight 3407 was on autopilot in icing conditions when it crashed.

This is a huge no-no in aviation. Ice build up on control surfaces is compensated for by the autopilot and unless the pilots are closely monitoring the trim of the aircraft, the potential for the aircraft to trim itself into an unflyable condition is a very real possibility. It looks like this happened according to the FAA. I always fly manually in icing conditions especially if I notice any kind of ice build up on the windshield or leading edges.

“That’s 3.6 million Americans who wake up every day wondering how they are going to pay their bills, stay in their homes and provide for their children. That’s 3.6 million Americans who need our help”

It was such a desperate crisis that the bill just had to be voted on without anyone actually reading it.

And just how urgent is the push to get this bill signed into law? Apparently, not so much.

What’s the Rush?

After pushing Congress for weeks to hurry up and pass the massive $787 billion stimulus bill, President Obama promptly took off for a three-day holiday getaway.

Good point and I do agree, however, if what I think is going to happen actually happens, this country will wake up and wake up really fast. The only way to fix this economic mess if for the government to de-leverage and drastically curtail services like welfare, unemployment, social security et. al. We need to get rid of the crippling debt. When this happens, Americans will have no choice but to re-cage their gyro’s and get back to being fiscal conservatives.

They do mention foreign participants in the march, there was a counter-march also.Cato can translate this far better than I can if there’s anything significant. I haven’t seen any of these foreign groups named yet. (Auslander). Swedes are mentioned.

In parallel with the star of the marches against demonstrators gathered by the police around 6000 right-wing extremists from many states and abroad, including the leaders of the NPD. Since Saturday remembers an inscription at the Dresden Altmarkt to the destruction of the city during the Second World War. The bombing came about 25 000 people were killed. According to the police is that the attackers on the service area to right of Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland and from Sweden. They were with a coach at the rest stop on Highway 4 came as the two buses of about 80 demonstrators were just there. The right wing had the members of the tour group first insulted and then they set.

Yes, I take it this is a yearly event at the memorial to Dresden bombing casualties. This year it seems to be much more organized, but they were met by a larger counter demonstration. Usually the event is laying a wreath at a cemetery, in silence. This tear, tradition was broken in that there were speeches denouncing Neo-Nazis. Busses with counter-protesters were ambushed by the Neo-Nazis and some people were beaten. I’m trying to get a handle on the foreigners involved in this, apparently the German element was already well known to the authorities from their past actions.

However, the Hamas bear is one Teddy would shoot, quite willingly, I believe.

Actually, I suspect the revolving door is strategic. Get a kid attached, then let the Israelis ‘kill off’ the character. It creates a sense of paranoia, grief, desire for revenge…

Oh, you’re right, the program is created by adults who don’t give a rat’s ass about the kids. But I suspect that they’re doing this just as deliberately as Sesame Street creates longtime characters.

The problem is that the control rules built in to the autopilot are for the aircraft flying without ice. It behaves differently, to the point where it can behave opposite to normal when control surfaces are moved.

They are working on autopilots that can adapt to changes in behavior, but these are still experimental.
