World Nut Daily is pimping some ridiculous book by a Joseph Niezgoda saying that John Lennon's death was a prophecy and that he made a "deal with the devil." This is from the fools website:
While the world was focused on the madman tendencies of Lennon’s murderer, Niezgoda sensed something completely different: He noticed that John Lennon may well have sold his soul to the devil, and that the assassination was merely Satan collecting his due.
The article World Nut Daily article is chock full of insane quotes and observations typical of that rag.

The Beatles of course was always surrounded by conspiracy theorists. I never payed attention to any of it. This guy is also making associations or seeing premonitions in album covers, songs, etc. Typically they work backwards. They'll see "bullet holes" in the perforations of a band aid -- he used some example like this with a piece of concrete that was cast with some circular depressions.

I'm not going to go ballistic on this magazine at this time; suffice it to say that it is a safe bet that it can be found in Departments of Education in most U.S. universities (as it used to teach teachers to teach) and is subscribed to by many (most?) public school administrations. I have seen numerous references in their pages of the plight of the poor Palestinians and how wicked the Jews are. It is a sickening, vile rag (adored by educators).
Their website is quite informative.

Julian wasn't hers and lived with Cynthia Lennon, but you are right that there was a huge difference in the way they were treated. Julian had a tough upbringing. Then when Sean was born John became a model father. It must have been rough on Julian to see Sean treated so much better than he had been treated.
Both John and Yoko were such different people after they got back together in 1975. Compare that to 1972 when they were hanging around with communists and revolutionaries like Jerry Rubin (and Geraldo).

I was working on fixing the screens for my sunroom when I noticed I had a rabbit checking me out. He was just hanging out with a bunch of grass and twigs in its mouth. It was pretty cute.
Until... I found it had burrowed into my garden, and if I wasn't careful, I could end up with another broken ankle. They are so cute, until they go and do something like that.
Now, I've got to go and find some kind of natural repellent.
Since I've been putting in a bunch of plants and shrubs, I've noticed a lot more birds as well. Most are pretty common stuff, but there are a few standouts, including a couple of striking Blue Jays and Cardinals that come through from time to time.

I generally say little about her because I do believe John loved her. That's all that matters.
She can't carry a tune in a bucket but, if they loved each other, it speaks volumes.

Rose bushes are a great natural repellent. I have a lot of dogs that like to shit on my parking strip. When I trim my rose bushes I take them over to the parking strip and use the garden shears to cut then into one inch slices. spread them around and that might solve your problem unless the rabbits invent shoes or something.

Here's the thing about kids and rose bushes: they learn pretty darn quickly not to grab everything that grabs their fancy. The lesson is a bit unpleasant but, it is not traumatizing. All that is ruquired to heal is a kiss on the boo-boo. (Some would add a swat on the butt while telling the tot not to touch the rose bush again.)

My ex insisted the bird couldn't be called the "Baltimore oriole," because then the ball club would be the "Baltimore Baltimore Orioles."
I saw a red-tailed hawk snatch a mourning dove out of the air once. The hawk used to sit at the top of a dead tree, waiting for prey, but that was the only time I saw him get one. It was over in a split second. I went outside - nothing but a few feathers in the middle of the yard.

She could always convert. ;) The last few episodes, boy, are they uncomfortable to watch. I didn't like that big screen scene with Probie and LL Cool J -- the one where they used their hands to manipulate the images. Seemed out of character for NCIS. One of the things I like about that show is that it doesn't rely on special effects or props other than standard issue.

re: #198 Killgore Trout
When I was a kid in India I used to take horse riding lessons. We used to ride though some of the larger parks in the city where you could see wild peacocks. For Thanksgiving we used to eat something called "Punjab Turkey". I think they were the same critter.
You grew up in India? Ooooooh. We'll need to work on getting you off the subject of the day more often, then.
I've been to houses that had peacocks and hens roaming around, but wild - that would be something to see.

I hated that! What? is proby now Tom Cruise of NCIS?
Plus I don't ike one new of the new actors...The fun part about the Show we always got a cool new actor each year..
And we really grew to like them and then seem them sadly go away..Totally cool show...The must have some new writers or producers..

I used to consider parrots and giant fruitbats as common too. What an odd person I was.
I grew up on a high plain desert. Birds were less colorful and rarer, but they were hearty critters. For that matter, everything was.

re: #200 Catttt
Yeah. They certainly are. I saw the whole thing and still had to go outside to see. I might have not believed my own eyes but for the feathers right under the spot in the air where it happened.
I took my future Wife for a walk in the winter woods of Upstate NY. We were crossing an open field when we came across a hole. A mouse had dug its way above the snow and lit out in search of food. The little fellow made a beautiful trail of mouse paws and tail for about three feet... until the trail was interrupted by thashing and scratching marks, and the outlines of feathers. We never saw either animal.
The snow was beautiful, though.

"Leon Vance?"
Tom Cruise is a good way of putting it. I suppose the more distance they put themselves from Donald Bellisario the more it may change over the years. I'm glad it's still on however seeing that they cancelled "Life" on NBC with Damian Lewis who played Dick Winters in Band of Brothers. Without NCIS it would take a lot of work for them to get my interest at this point.

When I lived in the country, I'd occasionally find a mouse part - found fresh hindquarters in the dining room, and once swept a dessicated mouse head from under the fridge. My Siamese tried to teach me to mouse by dropping mice on me in bed, then smacking my hand. Ahhh, memories.
