WaPo: Kid Porn on Von Brunn’s Computer

US News • Views: 6,153

Child Porn Found on Museum Suspect’s Computer, Court Told.

Authorities discovered child pornography on a computer belonging to James W. von Brunn, the 88-year-old white supremacist accused of killing a security guard at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum last week, according to court documents filed by the FBI.

FBI agents said they recovered the computer during a search of the Annapolis apartment where von Brunn lived for the past two years. The discovery was disclosed in a search warrant affidavit filed in federal court Wednesday seeking to make a more thorough inspection of the computer, a Promedia 2000 desktop. Authorities did not disclose the type or extent of the child pornography they found on the computer during their first search.

Investigators also recovered from the apartment a .30-30 rifle, other computers, floppy discs, memory cards, cellphones, a handwritten will and what appeared to be a painting of Hitler and Jesus, they wrote in court papers.

Believe me, I'd be perfectly happy to take him out behind the woodshed and line him up with that cat-killing kid in Florida to get the maximum value out of my rifle round, but I don't directly see what legal end is served by adding "pedo" to the list, when we're considering his guilt in the murder of a black man at a Jewish museum.

According to the scriptures, for Jesus to grant forgiveness, you must first repent, humble yourself before God and then ask for forgiveness.

Jesus would forgive... if Hitler did all this... but I doubt Hitler would ask for forgiveness. He was irrational with what some people believe was a God complex.

He may actually have believed that his actions were justified.

I don't believe that because only about half of Iranians are Persians. Most of the Mullahs are Azeri Turks, not Persians. Along with Azeris, there are several other ethnic groups that make up the other half of Iran's population. So at least some of the Basij must be non-Persians.

Like, say, Paleostinians?

Hi R-dubbs. I liked that version of the great song by Toto. Very powerful. That song always takes me back to Freshman Year in College.

Andy McKee plays a nice version on the acoustic guitar too. But I have to say, these guys with their alternate tunings.. They drive me crazy when I'm trying to figure out the chords to a song. (Not like I could copy anything Andy McKee does on my best day but still, that's not fair!)

Seems like some of the Gitmo detainees want to stay there.

The Obama administration's drive to close the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, has hit a new snag: At least some of the 13 detainees accepted for resettlement by the island nation of Palau don't want to go there.

It gets better.

A U.S. official said about 50 of the 229 detainees at Guantanamo have been cleared for release. Dozens have preferred to remain at Guantanamo rather than be repatriated to countries where they expect to be persecuted, the official said.

What will happen today?

The first scenario is that a compromise will be reached, in which case tomorrow may turn into a farewell ceremony or sorts. Mr. Mousavi may come out and tell his supporters to return home and be obedient citizens once again.

In the second scenario, Karroubi and Mousavi remain defiant and continue the marches. In that case many are almost certain that the government will use brutal force to suppress them. Violence will follow.

In a third scenario, marches continue and the government caves in. However there is no sign of that happening. Ayatollah Khamanei threw all of his might behind Ahmadinejad’s government today. [Link: tehranbureau.com...]

Hard to top the Halifax Explosion.

As the fire spread out of control, Mont-Blanc's crew were unable to reach fire-fighting equipment and, aware of their volatile cargo, they quickly abandoned ship upon the captain's orders. Within 10 minutes, their two rowboats containing the 40-man crew reached safety on the Dartmouth side of the harbour as the burning ship continued to drift towards the Halifax shore...

At 9:04:35 AM, the cargo of Mont-Blanc exploded with more force than any man-made explosion before it, equivalent to roughly 3 kilotons of TNT. (Compare to atomic bomb Little Boy dropped on Hiroshima, which had an estimated power of 15 kilotons TNT equivalent.)...

Some 1.32 square kilometres (326 acres) of Halifax was destroyed, essentially leaving a 1.6 kilometres (1 mi) radius around the blast site uninhabitable. Many people who had gathered around the ship either to help or watch were killed in the blast or were hit by the resulting tsunami. Others who had been watching from the windows of their homes and businesses were killed instantly or severely injured by flying glass as their windows shattered inwards.

As Part of Crackdown on Journalists, Iranian Security Forces Detain and Beat Canadian Journalist

In his first public remarks after days of demonstrations, Ayatollah Khamenei denied any possibility that last week’s vote had been rigged and defended President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad as the rightful winner of the election. At the same time, the Iranian government continues to arrest journalists, prominent reformists and associates of the opposition candidates, including twenty-six-year-old Mohammadreza Jalaeipour, the top strategist for presidential challenger Mir Hossein Mousavi. We speak to Toronto Globe and Mail reporter George McLeod. On Sunday, he was arrested, briefly detained, and beaten by Iranian security forces.

The Persians are not arabs. They have a long and proud history of resistance against the arabs and their Sunni sect. They believe in their Shia identity, which draws a bright line 'twixt them and the majority of arab Islam. Until the fall of the Shah, they were the most westernized Muslim country in the ME (well, arguments can be made for Lebanon, but the Maronites had control of the money and the government, so I don't consider it Muslim in 1979). Memories are long and they have chafed under the guns of the mullahs. I'm with jcm. I hope he's right.

Good stuff at Belmont:

...
My own guess is that President Obama is trapped by two things. The first is the momentum of his own miscalculations. He has crafted an entire strategy for the Middle East and now the carpet (and a Persian one) has been pulled from under his feet. The second is an implicit intelligence and bureaucratic failure. Presidents cannot choose from an unlimited number of action options. They can only select from what is called an “organizational repertoire”. It is like a piano. You can only press the keys on the keyboard. If the key is missing, then no can play. In this case, my guess is that Obama has no worked-up options for this rapidly changing case and his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, has now been shown what her true capacity is in life.

Things aren’t moving according to the script for the President. And this time, the media can’t write it for him.

Speaking of shipwrecks, check out HMS Victoria, British battleship sunk in a collision off Lebanon on June 22nd, 1893. This was a tragedy, too, though not on the scale of the Armenia or Titanic (358 dead).
The most interesting thing about it is that the wreck is standing vertically on the ocean floor, with its bows plunged deep into the clay bottom and its propellers pointing to the sky. The pictures are absolutely surreal, the ship looming out of the murk like a giant tombstone. The Russian monitor Rusalka is the only other known vertical shipwreck in the world. Interestingly enough, the Rusalka sank on September 7th 1893, just 3 months after the Victoria ,and the wreck was found in July 2003, a little over a year before that of Victoria.

I have to say that I agree with you - I just don't see all of those hundreds of thousands, nay millions of "dissidents" going quietly into that good night.
And should I be wrong, then at least the West will know quite well indeed, how strong and how large the "oppostion" to the Mullacracy truly is.

We busted out Iraq, our people we're wheeling and dealing with the top echelons of the Iraqi military before the first Gulf War. Things are not always what they seem although most times they are.

/remember, two, count them two, CIA agents, armed with suitcases full of cash and one military FAQ, bought the Northern Alliance and ran the Taliban clear out of Afghanistan, at the time, in a matter of a few weeks

A gross overstatement. They weren't run out, just overrun, and some JDAMs and hellfires were involved as well.

Hey laZardo - We, as in the U.S., are not going to intervene in Iran ON THE GROUND. They'll be no US Forces used anywhere. The proposed "new regime" with Mousavi at it's head, is hardly going to be friendly to the U.S. anyway.
BUT - should Mousavi - the people, really - bring down the Mullacracy, then institute some sort of military dictatatorship, then that's one less hurdle for Iranians to leap to get to freedom and democracy.
And, over time, Mousavi will prove to be what he is protesting against and "his" people today will one day rise up against him and finally, I hope, obtain the Freedom and Democracy they deserve.

Things as I understand them, are poorly understood (old joke), but following the communist model, as another dogmatic and tyrannical regime, once the commisars are in charge throughout the armed forces, their independence is at least compromised.

Besides, they want their nukes.

The fact that Mousavi would like them to have the nukes, too, doesn't make them any more likely to rock the boat, at the moment, I think.

I keep trying to steer them towards more valid reasons to loathe this administration.....with a more competent administration, this would make it much more difficult for me. But between card check, cap and trade, the nationalizaion of several key industries and affording terrorists the same rights as a motorist pulled over by the State Police for going 27 in a school zone, I have alot to discuss.

Yes. It is now in the hands of the Iranians. How far will the Ruling Council go? How much control do they have over the military? Will they use their irregulars instead, if it comes to that? Will the protesters stand their ground? This isn't Tiananmen. The revolution may not be televised, but violent images and first-hand accounts will leak. Sparing details. But shortwave broadcasts gospel broadcasts have been beamed into Iran for decades. Run by Christian Iranians in the US with support of US churches. The mullahs did the same thing. FBI got them first, made news locally when and where it happened, but never hit the major networks. Authorities spared many details so it didn't seem important.

Now onto other very important things. Obama plans to zone the oceans. Found this on Drudge. Thought it was a joke at first, but it's not.

Wow. Congratulations.

Our daughter was a concert violinist who decided to be a cop back in the late nineties. I remember how awesome it was to see her graduate. They threw up their hats & I loved it.

She got out of it and works with the victims of crime now but I think she still misses it She is not quite 5'6" and about 100 lbs dripping wet.

Do you know if he did parts 2 and 3 of Dante's divine comedy as well? Dante's inferno is actually the 2-33rd stanzas of his Dante's Comedia later renamed divine comedy it came in 3 parts 1st inferno 2nd purgatorium 3rd paradisio the first opening stanza is often included with inferno tho giving it 34 total stanzas.

There were several women in my son's class who were small women, but he said they all had the attitude - don't mess or else! Back in my day there were height requirements - but no longer, which I think is good. A 5'6" woman can down a 6'2" man with no problems because their training is so good.

Your daughter sounds like a wonderful person. Good job!

Now I'm really hitting the sack...;-)

Will do! NY Grampa is going to our Trader Joe's today, and buying Israeli products....to spit in the faces of anyone who is there to boycott Israeli products, and to buy at least one of any that are in stock. We have one about 5 minutes away.

Talk to you later.

Thank you! I will tell him - he'll appreciate that. Being up at Elysian Park with all those guys in blue is emotionally stirring.

Bigot, murderer, Nazi, racist, a lousy husband and father that got off on abusing kids.
If I posted what I think of the SOB, I would deserve the ban stick.

But according to the MSM - this man only hated Obama. That's all that counts for agenda news.

Is anyone REALLY surprised? It's not like this isn't a pattern or anything -

I have NO interest in defending this disturbed whack job but people should keep in mind when buying used PC's off the 'net (ebay etc.) that you may be buying the 'tainted' hard drive someone else wants to be rid of. If your response to this point is "no one would be stupid enough to sell a PC with a hard drive containing this type of 'material', think again. It has happened.
I read a story a few years back (locally) where this POS did sell a PC found to have this garbage on it.He had used a program that he believed wiped the hard drive clean and so he felt safe selling it in the local classifieds. The unfortunate person who had bought the used PC/hard drive found themselves on the wrong side of the law and the PC was seized and a forensic search of the drive was done. The only good part of the story was the new owner was cleared of possessing/downloading the materiel as the chain of ownership proved he could not have due to the dates involved from original purchase to re sale and corresponding dates the material was downloaded. When I read that this killer was 88 yrs. old my initial thought was "seems a little old" etc. Second thought was maybe he was given the PC and then the memory of this local story came to mind. I also noted that more than one PC was found at his place. It may be possible more than one person owned and/or used one or more of these PC's. I would hope the authorities will follow up and make sure that some living, breathing POS isn't getting a free pass just because von Brunn's dead and they want to close the book.

The only reference to a "Promedia 2000" PC I could find on line was for an elderly Win98 machine. There is also a Pakistani company called Promedia that sells relabeled empty PC cases, but I doubt they sell complete systems in the US. Circa Win98 I knew all of the local PC parts wholesalers in the Md/DC/VA area and most of their customer base, none were called or sold PC's under the name "Promedia" or "Promedia 2000." The Klipsch speaker company also makes a line of PC speakers called "Promedia", but I haven't gotten the impression that Von Brunn was that much of a music lover and AM radio doesn't need a 200 watt 2.1 THX certified speaker set.

Given that there is a large Pakistani immigrant population in and around the DC region, it's entirely possible that Von Brunn bought his mid-1990's machine second or third hand from a Pakistani immigrant. (such the irony if true)

However given the usual and all too common neo-nazi predilection for pedophilia, my guess is that Von Brunn is just that totally evil.

I am a bit curious as to why he used a .22 (has that been confirmed yet? some versions are still saying shotgun) and left the more powerful .30-30 at home though...so much for that Mensa membership card. He couldn't even get the suicide-by-cop drill to go down as he planned.

===

Von Brunn was not a Rightwinger, nor was he a Leftwinger. None of the neo-nazis are. Nor, like their historical ancestors, have they ever been.

As far as politics goes, the neo-nazis, like their historical ancestors, are political parasites. Quickly latching unto any party, left or right, that is stupid and ignorant enough to let them in, and then attempting to take over that party from within. That's what they do, that is what they have always done, going all the way back to 1920. That is what they are doing right this very day. Long time readers of LGF have watched them attempt this very act at least a half a dozen times just in the last eight years.

No, they didn't get me. They never will. I was chosen, and they were not.
