There are a couple of Mexican restaurants in DC that have grasshopper tacos on their menus.
On one of our trips to the Philippines, my wife's family tried to gross me out by serving up some local delicacies: balut, fried crickets, frogs on a stick...I ate it all and amazed them. Then, they brought out the durian fruit....I took one bite and barfed......they all laughed so hard....nice inlaws. I am planning a Rocky Mountain Oyster feast for them when they come to visit us.

I wasn't quite specific enough. You don't need a hunting license to keep what you kill with your car. It's more of a consolation prize to someone who hits a deer. If the deer doesn't kill them. My dad had a co-worker who's son was killed when he hit a deer and it came through the windshield.
We've got deer everywhere down here. We even have the occasional bear wandering around.
The woman who cuts my hair hit a deer last year and trashed her new car. She was very shaken up and the the cops were nice enough to call a tow truck, etc. Driver shows up, loads up her car, points to the carcass on the roadside and asked her if she was intending to take it too. She told him, he would have to fight the cop over it as he had asked the same question.

That's the same here if you kill one with a car. Or, you can call the local Sheriff and let him/her know because they keep a list of people who want the venison.

Like buffets?
A buffet at least has choice. I was being facetious with the alternative bit, but the truth is there is plenty of good food in most stores. Just buy mostly stuff that doesn't come in a can or freeze dried box. In other words, if it has an ingredients label other than "lean" avoid it (except for steak sauce and iodine in salt).
Ever check out what some families have in the grocery cart? Incredible.

Of course there is dirt. I don't mind washing it off. As for the expense, I am ok with spending a little more, knowing where it was grown, supports my local farmers, etc Finally, the only "environment" we did it for, was our kitchen. No green motivations behind it. You simply cannot beat the taste of fresh veggies.

I can't eat Taco Bell. Loved it when I was younger. One day I found a brown tublar thing in a taco. It looked like a brown vein. About 2 inches long. Never have been back.
My mom found a small, rectangular strip of metal in a TB burrito once. I think she settled out-of-court with the insurance company.
I seldom eat at Taco Bell because I have access to REAL Mexican food in several places in close proximity to my house.
