Cluebats don't work on fundies like that. You can't pound clues into crazy that thick.

Government busted in cover up scandal! (not from a right wing blog)
Evolution, Big Bang Polls Omitted From NSF Report

In an unusual last-minute edit that has drawn flak from the White House and science educators, a federal advisory committee omitted data on Americans' knowledge of evolution and the big bang from a key report. The data shows that Americans are far less likely than the rest of the world to accept that humans evolved from earlier species and that the universe began with a big bang.
...
Board members say the decision to drop the text was driven by a desire for scientific accuracy. The survey questions that NSF has used for 25 years to measure knowledge of evolution and the big bang were "flawed indicators of scientific knowledge because responses conflated knowledge and beliefs," says Louis Lanzerotti, an astrophysicist at the New Jersey Institute of Technology who chairs NSB's Science and Engineering Indicators Committee.

The explanation doesn't appear to have soothed White House officials, who say that the edit—made after the White House had reviewed a draft—left them surprised and dismayed. "The Administration counts on the National Science Board to provide the fairest and most complete reporting of the facts they track," says Rick Weiss, a spokesperson and analyst at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
....
The section, which was part of the unedited chapter on public attitudes toward science and technology, notes that 45% of Americans in 2008 answered true to the statement, "Human beings, as we know them today, developed from earlier species of animals." The figure is similar to previous years and much lower than in Japan (78%), Europe (70%), China (69%), and South Korea (64%). The same gap exists for the response to a second statement, "The universe began with a big explosion," with which only 33% of Americans agreed.

On the was back up hill around 1:30 this afternoon, I stop by the supermarket where I work part time to check out NEXT WEEKS SCHEDULE, and I find out they screwed up the schedule and I was suppose to be in at 12:30pm TODAY.

So, I rush home, change into my "uniform" run back to the store and stood at a register until 8:30pm...

Contrary to the established teachings of Lao Stinky, I honestly believe that religiousness has a LOT to do with this. If you notice, belief in evolution as your chart states is inversely proportional to a belief in God.

Evolution is taught in Israel as it is in Jewish schools here in the U.S. There are some who disagree with it, but the controversy isn't quite the same because Jewish belief and evolution find ways to co-exist.

I dug this up that helps explain. heh

What we see in trying to get creationism taught in public school is really a carry over from getting in school prayer. That took a long time and went no where so the idea is to make it a science. Then it has to be taught. It's not possible for that to happen.

I believe in Israel, there are public secular schools (no mandatory religion taught) and public religious schools (mandatory Torah study). Muslims, Christians and Catholics have private schools if they want to have their own religious study.

I don't know if all US Catholic dioceses require evolution to be taught in science class, but I do know that the diocese of Joliet does. It also requires that in religion classes that it be taught that the Catholic Church teaches an interpretative version of the Bible, not literal. However, in religion classes the alternative 'theories' of creation may be addressed. Yet, the scientific evolutionary theory must be emphasized.

Considering the news about the Church in the last few weeks, thought I'd mention this.
