Oh, and one more thing on Sharron Angle...she's got a pastor problem. Look at what her fucktard preacher says about Harry Reid:
"His religion’s a cult," Pastor Reed said. "The Christian community—all the Christians, theologians and scholars, all recognize that, that Mormonism is a cult. I have books in my library on cults, and it lists Mormonism right there with all these bizarre cults. Well, there must be a reason. I mean, here a member of a cult is one of the most powerful people in the United States. Doesn’t that alarm you?

History of Plastic Injection Molding
The first man-made plastic was invented in Britain in 1851 by Alexander Parkes. He publicly demonstrated it at the 1862 International Exhibition in London, calling the material he produced "Parkesine." Derived from cellulose, Parkesine could be heated, molded, and retain its shape when cooled. It was, however, expensive to produce, prone to cracking, and highly flammable.

Carl Paladino: Andrew Cuomo's "Prowess is Legendary"
"For weeks, the media has badgered me about affairs, because unlike a career politician, I was honest enough to acknowledge she was my daughter," he says, before ticking off some of the questions he said he had been asked.
"Does the media ask Andrew such questions?" Paladino continues, referring to his opponent, Democratic attorney general Andrew Cuomo. He adds: "Andrew's prowess is legendary."
Paladino has raised claims of extramarital affairs on Cuomo's part before, though he has not provided any proof to support the allegations.
Immediately after the "prowess is legendary" comment, Paladino says the campaign shouldn't be about such allegations, since New York is "in a death spiral." He then discusses many of his proposals.
Paladino closes the video by challenging Cuomo to debate, saying, "Come out and debate like a man."
The charge comes despite the fact that Cuomo has already agreed to debate.

Also another defense of Beck from the John Birch Society.

Update on the foreclosure bill.
Obama vetoes bill to speed foreclosures
WASHINGTON (CNNMoney.com) -- President Obama won't sign a bill that could have made it easier for courts to clear foreclosures, the White House said Thursday.
The bill would have required federal and state courts to recognize documents that were notarized in other states.
Both congressional chambers approved the legislation by voice votes, a move used for noncontroversial bills. The House passed it in April, and the Senate passed it Sept. 27...

Strange.
Mississippi Lawyer Jailed for Not Reciting Pledge in Courtroom
TUPELO, Miss. | When a Mississippi judge entered a courtroom and asked everyone to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance, a lawyer with a reputation for fighting free speech battles stayed silent as everyone else recited the patriotic oath. The lawyer was jailed.
Lawyer Danny Lampley spent about five hours behind bars Wednesday before Judge Talmadge Littlejohn set him free so the lawyer could work on another case. Lampley told The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal he respected the judge but wasn't going to back down.
"I don't have to say it because I'm an American," Lampley told the newspaper.
The Supreme Court ruled nearly 70 years ago that schoolchildren couldn't be forced to say the pledge, a decision widely interpreted to mean no one could be required to recite the pledge...

Yoga a dangerous 'risk' for Christians, cautions evangelical leader Albert Mohler, sparking backlash
A feud over yoga and religion has left many Christians bent out of shape.
Southern Baptist Seminary President Albert Mohler unleashed a storm of controversy when he penned a critical essay last month titled "Should Christians Practice Yoga?"
In the piece, Mohler cautions Christians against the practice of yoga, saying that despite its evolution into a popular pastime, its spiritual basis violates the tenets of Christianity."Yoga begins and ends with an understanding of the body that is, to say the very least, at odds with the Christian understanding," he wrote. "Christians are not called to empty the mind or to see the human body as a means of connecting to and coming to know the divine."
Stating that yoga "threatens" to push Christians into a "post-Christian, spiritually polyglot" reality, Mohler asks, "Should any Christian willingly risk that?"
The evangelical leader found himself in the hot seat on Thursday when The Associated Press picked up his story, making it national news...

The Corinth incident happened in June.

If you can't find out and VERIFY who the principals in this scheme are, get out! Organized crime runs totally legit businesses. That's how money laundering works. The business that receives your money is totally legal but the money filters back to the Organization for it's illegal activities just the same.

That reminds me of the fact that Christians up to the 18th century were taught by the Church to be leery of bathing, as it required nudity, which was seen as sinful sui generis. The soldiers in Napoleon's campaign suffered terribly from lice, which was through more recent research found to have been a vector for disease which decimated the force.

A legal expert comments:
It's very odd. On the one hand the attorney is not serving his client very well by deciding to take a "stand" against rising for the pledge yet the judge decides to make a scene of this and have the attorney incarcerated. The Constitution is on the side of the attorney yet it doesn't serve the client in a practical sense. One would think there would be some kind of authority that would set the record (law) straight for Judge Talmadge Littlejohn. However, it's a well known fact that once you're in a judge's courtroom you're almost literally in a different world.

Based on his past*, Lampley may just be an idealist. It's a very conservative part of Mississippi, so he really stands out. I hope his efforts to insist on his rights turns out well for him.
*Lampley is no stranger to controversy. Years ago, he represented a Pontotoc woman who objected to student-led intercom prayer and Bible history classes taught at North Pontotoc Attendance Center. U.S. District Judge Neal Biggers agreed the activities were unconstitutional.

I don't think he realizes that people are taking up yoga for the physical and mind aspects rather than on a spiritual or religious journey towards a Hindu philosophy.

What he says in the original essay is:
When Christians practice yoga, they must either deny the reality of what yoga represents or fail to see the contradictions between their Christian commitments and their embrace of yoga. The contradictions are not few, nor are they peripheral. The bare fact is that yoga is a spiritual discipline by which the adherent is trained to use the body as a vehicle for achieving consciousness of the divine. Christians are called to look to Christ for all that we need and to obey Christ through obeying his Word. We are not called to escape the consciousness of this world by achieving an elevated state of consciousness, but to follow Christ in the way of faithfulness.[Link: www.albertmohler.com...]
I think Christians practicing yoga are perfectly content to 'deny the reality of what yoga represents' and use it for physical stretching and mental relaxation.

Yoga is not a religion, even in Eastern cultures. Instead, it serves as a spiritual tool - like prayer - that may be customized according to beliefs, values, and physical ability.

His religion's a cult," Pastor Reed said. "The Christian community--all the Christians, theologians and scholars, all recognize that, that Mormonism is a cult. I have books in my library on cults, and it lists Mormonism right there with all these bizarre cults. Well, there must be a reason. I mean, here a member of a cult is one of the most powerful people in the United States. Doesn't that alarm you? And his allegiance is to Salt Lake City. Something is up with that. Something's weird. But nobody touches that. ... Harry Reid's allegiance is to Salt Lake City. The Mormon church is rich, powerful, they do illegal things. They do secretive things. They've got all this money. They own American businesses. There's weirdness going on there. Churches are not multi-millionaire organizations like the Mormon church. You know, there's some weirdness with that, but nobody questions it, nobody asks one question to Harry Reid and says, 'Tell us about your faith. What does a Mormon believe?' Ask him about the holy garments that he wears that protect him from evil. Isn't that kooky? Ask him about getting his body parts anointed by oil. Isn't that kooky? Ask him about when he goes to the temple and he gets baptized for dead people. Isn't that kooky? Ask him about the hit squad of the Mormon church and why they need people to kill Mormons that go against them. Isn't that controlling? Ask him how they shun people, then they get their family members to disown them and divorce them if they dare leave the Mormon church. Isn't that cultish? I mean, I could go on and on. The Mormon church is a cult, and Harry Reid is a powerful person in a cult, and nobody even questions it."

That's because religion is more about defining what God isn't rather than what he is. In the course of developing theology, one has to decide what to believe in and thus throw some things out.
Religion is the attempt by the finite to understand and define the infinite. Which is why I'm agnostic.

Come to the other side of the state. :)
Hoosier Hoops was the one who moved. He's in Oklahoma (Norman) instead of ending up in Singapore.
And I'm actually *in* the other side of the state from Pittsburgh. I displaced to Philly from near Pittsburgh three plus years ago due to a transfer to take a different job for the oil company I used to work for.

There is a lack of well defined terms for non-believers.
I'm a "soft" or "negative" atheist. I do not believe in a god or gods. I'm willing to be convinced by evidence, but I haven't seen any that was particularly compelling. There are any number of things that might exist, but without evidence I am disinclined to believe.
You are quite welcome to believe what you'd like as long as you don't demand that I base my life on your belief system. I don't think that can be said to invalidate everyone else's beliefs.

It's called DHCP and providers don't generally provide Statics.. They provide a range of IP's within a DHCP scope leased out by a server...
There is no advantage commercially to owning a Static IP and 99% of all users wouldn't have a clue to setting one up...The server dishes out an IP to you...There is absolutely no advantage on the public IP's of having Statics.. Now in private ranges that's a different story

Oh, yeah, the Pakistanis. Aren't those the guys whose Secret Police are encouraging the Taliban to keep fighting in Afghanistan?
Their spies are tell the Taliban to kill Americans.
Members of Pakistan's spy agency are pressing Taliban field commanders to fight the U.S. and its allies in Afghanistan, some U.S. officials and Afghan militants say, a development that undercuts a key element of the Pentagon's strategy for ending the war.The explosive accusation is the strongest yet in a series of U.S. criticisms of Pakistan, and shows a deteriorating relationship with an essential ally in the Afghan campaign. The U.S. has provided billions of dollars in military and development aid to Pakistan for its support.
It's time to rethink about how much money we are sending them. If they are working along side the terrorists then fuck them. Stop the money and drop more explosives on the bastards.

Static IP addresses can make it easier to access your internal personal network from an outside network. Say for instance, if I am at work but need something from a shared drive at home, I can easily access my firewall and router via the static IP address to then have access to all my computers at home.

Geek question:
What is the difference between Dynamic IP DSL and Static IP DSL???
I'm looking to change providers since I'm not exactly happy with ATT.
Looking at Sonic.net right now.
A static IP will remain the same, allowing access from outside on a consistent basis. A dynamic will change after the DHCP lease time has expired and/or the router gets rebooted. This makes it difficult to access your router from outside because the IP keeps changing.
If you intend to run a server you should have a static IP. Otherwise, a dynamic is fine.

Static is nice if you have a server.

No, that's totally useless. Oil is fungible. As long as we keep consuming oil at the rate that we do, we supply the Saudis with money. It doesn't matter if we get it from them or someone else; they make money based off the price of oil, which depends on demand for oil.
In order to reduce Saudi Arabia's power, we have to get off oil. Getting somewhere else does no good at all.
And, by Dark_Falcon's logic above, those who are resting our move away from oil, those who are denying AGW-- the GOP, in other words-- are acting in a pro-terrorist fashion.

True, to a point. But Hizbullah as an Iranian proxy makes very little bones about not giving two shits about the Palestinians. Peace with (or pacifying) the Palestinians brings Egypt, Jordan and the Gulf States onsides, but does nothing to address the Iranian threat. This is in part why the peace negotiations are of so little obvious interest to the Israeli government. While from a moral perspective, peace with the Palestinians is seen as desirable, it does very little to ameliorate the security situation. Hamas in the south, Hizbullah in the north.

The Host files contain both IP and name. DNS translates the name into IP.

I'm sorry, but AGW has everything to do with how much oil we use. How on earth can you say otherwise? Using oil causes AGW.
Can you explain how on earth you're saying that the use of oil is unrelated to AGW?
Can you say how it's related? If that were true why hasn't the government banned car racing, boating, private jets, etc... if oil was such a problem causing global warming?

Depending on your value of 'hate', it might or might not be fair to say the majority of Palestinians hate Jews. Polls aren't really taken to reveal 'hate', but the incidence of 'have a negative view of Jews is something like 95% in the Palestinian territories.
Apparently, at some point they did a HUGE survey of Palestinians and Israelis of a range of ages, looking at their ideas about the other group. Interestingly, there was a real gap between older Palestinians and their grandchildren when it came to 'do the Jews have a genuine attachment to Jewish religious sites in Israel'. The older people said, "Of course", the kids said "No, it's an excuse to take our land".
Propaganda and circumstances have had an effect even within the generations now living.

And I will be honest, AGW or no AGW, getting off of oil is in our long term best interest as a sovereign nation.
Absolutely true, and has been for a very long time.
It won't be easy. There needs to be a transition period, but there needs to be some dedication to it to.
Unfortunately, thanks to the AGW part, we have very limited time for that transition period. And it's not enough for us to switch away from oil on our own; we have to be able to export the technology to China, which does so much of our manufacturing-- and, really, the rest of the world.
We need nuclear energy for stationary objects (houses, cities, businesses) and good portable energy for transportation.
We need whatever works; if thorium reactors prove out, it's them. But we shouldn't put our eggs all in one basket, but continue improving all alternative technologies with any merit.
And we need a huge push to do this.
With the GOP currently denying AGW, this is almost certainly not going to happen, and we will be reduced to the ridiculous hope that China will develop good alternative energy.
The GOP: Making the US dependent on the innovation from a communist nation. Irony.

All servers are Static.. Period amen..
Dynamic DNS allows you to use dynamic IP on servers. I have 2 servers at home with static IPs, and I service several servers through Dyndns.org dynamic DNS. The routers note when the IP changes and sends the new IP to Dyndns.org which changes their DNS listing which propagates through the rest of them.

Obdicut, might I ask you another question that is a little OT?
I have always wondered as a Christian who believe in the freedom of religion and separation of church and state....
Why doesn't someone gay sue for the right to marry on religious grounds? That their religion supports gay marriage and the direct blocking of said marriage is a 1st amendment issue? That if "Christian" marriages are recognized, and their religion (some gays are Christian as well as other faiths) is being blocked, then they are being prejudiced against and that the US has to force recognition of those marriages?
I think they win in a landslide the Supreme Court. What do you think?

Your logic is perfectly good, but the truth is the argument about the 'sanctity' of marriage has nothing at all to do with the actual legal argument for gay marriage, as the recent trial in California showed.
Marriage is two things; a cultural concept and a legal framework. What gay people are trying to achieve is the legal framework; the extent to which they will have the cultural concept is a function of the way that people really, actually treat them as a married couple.

I see that, but i do not think the Dems have really pushed this. Make it a part of a real plan to "fight terrorism and those who support it."
I see half-hearted attempts and lots of waiving of arms.
Like immigration - make a comprehensive long-term plan to weaken terrorism...by cutting its funding off at the roots.
AGW is just too "conceptual" to gain traction. Terrorism is right now (I know AGW is too, but is not as apparent and won't be until it is too late).
Even drilling can be a part of the plan short term to get the center-right to see that the Dems are realistic for our need for energy.

10.x.x.x is a private address range, as is 192.x.x.x. Public services use DNS all the time. Try accessing a web site without the A record published by a DNS server somewhere. Most databases use UNC which still has to go to a DNS server. Even WINS (replacment for NETBIOS) translates name to IP. Does the TNSNAMES file similar to a Hosts file or LMHosts files?

You just threw up a straw man. Atheists do believe in creative processes and that nothing is random in the sense you mean except possibly quantum tunnelling. When we say random, we mean unpredictable, not without cause. What we deny is that there is a supernatural or intelligent cause to the formation of the 4 basic forces.
