GOP Debate: The Cain Edition

You want a job, right?
Politics • Views: 20,709

Here’s our first thread for tonight’s GOP debate, featuring the most clownish slate of candidates I’ve ever seen. CNBC is sponsoring this one at Oakland University in southeast Michigan…

The drinking game tonight is “Herman Cain,” whenever Cain uses it to refer to himself in the third person.

UPDATE at 11/9/11 5:05:27 pm

There’s a live video stream here. (Quicktime format.)

I'm not sure how many more of these debates my liver can take.

"Look to your left. Look to your right. Some of you will not be here next debate."

That's a dangerous drinking game keyword.

We'll I'll be going to bed shortly.

It was that, or watching these clowns. Know which one I prefer!

Oh crap, I won't make it to work tomorrow if "Herman Cain" is the phrase.

Personally, I'm curious to watch how much dancing around the issue of Cain's exploits will go on tonight. Should put DTWS to utter shame.

129 rwmofo  Wed, Nov 9, 2011 5:21:36pm

A couple observations:

1) Since the media went into the full-force feeding frenzy against Cain based on anonymous allegations (prior to the claims of Bialek - with Allred at her side...Something smells funny there), has the bar been lowered when the inevitable anonymous allegations are levied against a democrat? Or will the media stay true to form and do everything they can to cover for their guy? The question really answers itself, of course. Agenda first - facts, well maybe if they can find any.

2) The media will have to turn all their guns on Gingrich eventually. Seriously. Can you imagine a debate between Newt and Obama? Newt's record is largely based on cramming a balanced budget down the throat of the obstreperous Bill Clinton while Obama's claim to fame is causing record deficits and unemployment - but he IS above average at reading a teleprompter. The potential debate would be five-star entertainment - well, unless you're a loyal left-winger.

re: #129 rwmofo

You crow about the importance of facts and then throw out misleading BS about Obama. He inherited the worst economy since FDR, and since he hasn't fixed it by magic, he's a disaster? If only we'd elected McCain he would have worked his genius and our economy would be roaring, right? Meanwhile your side's got nothing except the tried and true talking points of even lower taxes and even less regulation (as if that helped over the last 5 years, since this mess began.)

You're not even an effective troll. You take a dump at the top of the page and then don't bother to respond to any of the serious comments you drew out of people.

Money is simply an implicit claim to property. It does not at all "enumerate" "the flow" of goods and services in an economy.
