Jim Hoft’s Latest Ugly Lie: Says Video Advocating Peaceful Protest “Threatens Violence and Destruction”

Hoft lies even when it’s easily checked

In Jim Hoft’s latest appallingly stupid and dishonest post, he flat-out lies about the video above: Latest #Ferguson Video Threatens More Violence & Destruction | the Gateway Pundit.

Hoft picks out a photo to accompany the video showing tear gas canisters going off, but the image is not from the video, and has nothing to do with it. Here’s how Hoft describes this video, in his usual clumsy, hateful way:

One of the latest video productions from Ferguson features a young teenager from Ferguson at the rallies for “justice.” Teen Shame Flowers warns that there will be more violence and destruction if Officer Darren Wilson is not indicted for the murder of Michael Brown.

First, this teenager’s name is “Shane,” not “Shame.”

Second, there is not a single point in the video at which Shane Flowers “warns there will be more violence and destruction.” In fact, the message of the video is exactly opposite to Hoft’s dishonest description. Flowers talks only about peaceful protests, and other young men in the video explicitly say the rioting was wrong.

Watch it for yourself and see. It’s a really moving short documentary with a purely positive message, and it’s not at all about threats or violence.

Jim Hoft isn’t just the Dumbest Man on the Internet, he’s also the Most Dishonest — and he’s doing his best to poison the discourse around this issue.

I love the scare quotes around “justice.” Not.

Can we get off this whole “rioting” idea? What happened that one night wasn’t even close to a full scale riot. If it had been there would have been a lot more destruction. L.A. had riots, Ferguson had some bad apples trying to incite/start one.

The truth is that it’s exactly Hoft who would love him some violence & destruction in Ferguson.

It was a small police riot AFAIK. But yes, nothing like LA let alone the ‘60’s

Looting one or two stores doesn’t even rate above a mild disturbance let alone a full scale riot like the one that occurred in L.A. And yeah the police were more riot-like than the protesters.

The question you need to ask yourself is “Are you going to let 100 savages live in your house because 4 of them appear to be like other normal Americans?”

Hoft isn’t just an idiot, he’s a racist idiot. That video is telling the kids to demonstrate without violence, without looting, without the same hate Hoft is pushing for.

If he doesn’t see that that was the message of the video then he’s too stupid to be on the Internet, he should be at home in his mother’s basement playing Pacman.

If he does see the real intent of the video but misrepresents it badly enough to be the opposite of the intent then he’s dishonest. He becomes a lying piece of shit by reversing a positive message.

The Right Wing reminds me of those record companies who deliberately put forth the “gangsta” image knowing that it gets them sales from mostly white teens who can take the gangsta stuff for granted even as they’ll never have to live in a real ghetto.

Harlan Ellison wrote a story like this, “The Five O’clock News Is Brought To You By…” A TV station is sliding in the ratings. One of the reporters meets the head of a motorcycle gang. You can see where this is going, and the reader does, by the end.

The Right has always been on the safe side of sedition, and they’ll be on the safe side with Ferguson in many ways. (In my dreams, Rush, Glenn, Ann and Jim are in Hell discussing their philosophy with Slobodan Milosevic. I wish.)

Hoft knows his demographic/readership well. They wont read past the headline. They wont watch the video through in its entirety. They wont question how a CT scan he prominently posted on his site as Wilson’s somehow is the same exact one as one found on several prominent medical websites and is from a scan done at the University of Iowa in 2007.

If Hoft is truly the SMOTI, what does it say of his readers who regurgitate this stuff endlessly? What does it say of Coulter and the Fox News drones who repeated his bogus claims about the scan?

Don’t you have to know the truth about a subject in order to be able to lie about it? otherwise its just an uniformed opinion right?

for example: he knew the “socket fracture scan” was not Wilson’s yet he put it online anyway, he knows the video on this thread does not say what he’s claiming it says yet he creates an article about it. If he was just dumb wouldn’t he offer corrections when he is shown the truth later?

Criminy—at one point the kids are even being told to write their thoughts on paper, instead of with chalk on a pole.

It was a sad but heartfelt look at what must be going through these kids’ minds when they see something like this, and Hoft has to spread his ugly filth to malign something positive.

As was said last night, these people are completely deranged.

Rotten to the core. Ferguson’s city finances rely on revenues from warrants/citations. The Ferguson PD issues a prodigious amount of tickets to its residents, disproportionately black residents.

So, if you’re talking reform of the FPD, you better include reforming the city government and budgets, because this doesn’t stop with the police chief.

Issue warrants that add still more fees, and cause more grief for the people seeking to address the charges.

And because of the sheer number of cases, there’s no way they could be adequately adjudicated either. Don’t expect the judge to reduce charges/costs/penalties. Just pay the cashier and move along.

It’s a travesty, and Ferguson is only the most prominent example at the moment.

Yes, an obvious white nationalist. Another comment from this creep:

The question you need to ask yourself is “Are you going to let 100 savages live in your house because 4 of them appear to be like other normal Americans?”

The answer is, “Yes. Yes, we are.”

I think the idea was that starting with the red at the bottom, especially on the red carpet, it draws the viewer all the way up to her face but has the side effect of looking like an odd volcanic eruption.

I am of the opinion that pink is a horrible idea for a red carpet.

Evening Lizardim. I am beat - it is a beautiful day here in the wild north country, and I took advantage of it to apply some of that new deck surfacing paint to my almost 20-year-old deck. We started with 2 gallons as a trial run and covered a bit more than 127 sq. ft. in a single go, which isn’t too bad. I’ll be interested to see how much of a change in splintering the single coat makes. How go things in the eternal war on derp?

Anecdote about the cat photo in the earlier comment.

I was visiting Franklin, TN this afternoon and touring the Carter House.

en.wikipedia.org

The last spot on the house tour was the cellar - where the family had sheltered during the battle. The tour guide as we were exiting said, “You should try to imagine what the members of the Carter family saw as they came up these stairs the next morning.”

So I came up the stairs with that in mind, looked to my left, and the pictured cat was lying there under the tree on his back with all four paws in the air.

I was too busy laughing to get a picture of him in that position.

Hehe, yes. That is me.

I had the seamstress put a laced back in the dress because a) I love them and b) it made small weight changes a lot more forgivable. There was a storm coming in (it rained and we had to move the wedding inside!) and so the wind was fantastic. My hair isn’t moving because there is so. much. hairspray which I normally abhor but it doesn’t hold curls worth anything otherwise.

That was 2 hours on the hair and it was actually supposed to be up but we ran out of time and I said back but down was fine. :)

The outbreak of relative sanity at RedState on this topic continues:

The other thing I would ask conservatives to do, both in person and in social media, is to stop using sweeping generalizations and stereotypical language to describe the black community. It happens here all the time. And it needs to stop. It perpetuates an attitude that needs to be eliminated. We complain about how liberals stereotype us, and we need to step up and stop doing the same thing.

I’m quoting a comment by a RedState moderator made in an article he wrote. redstate.com

Among other surprising content, that article included “Note Sharpton’s quote. He’s right.”.

It’s always tricky to work it with the Christmases that we fly back east for family. This is an off-year though, so we can do things closer to home.

re: #157 Islamo-Masonic Conspirator

“There is no God” - Holy Bible, Psalm 14:1.

There’s a Sufi story that goes something like this (I’m paraphrasing):

A man came upon a group of Sufis sitting in a circle doing dhikr1, chanting “la ilaha ill allah” (there’s no god but God).

He was curious and didn’t really understand what they were doing, so when they stopped he asked them if they could demonstrate what they meant. They started chanting again, but this time when they said “la ilaha” (there’s no god) they would disappear, then when they said “ill allah” (but God) they would reappear. Make of that story what you will. ;)

————————————————————————————————————————-

1. dhikr = remembrance, a devotional act during which a phrase or phrases are repeated, sometimes silently.

GOP Senate Campaign Defends Using Image Of James Foley’s Execution In Ad

The campaign of the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in New Mexico is defending an ad it released Monday that uses an image of the gruesome execution of James Foley, an American journalist. Foley was beheaded in northern Iraq last week by a member of the Islamic State, the terrorist group formerly known as ISIS.

The campaign ad released by Allen Weh, a retired U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Colonel running a longshot campaign against Sen. Tom Udall (D-N.M.), features an image of Foley’s masked executioner at the 32-second mark, along with other dramatic images from the Middle East. The ad debuted less than a week after a cousin of Foley’s pleaded with the public not to view or forward the video

Nothing in human affairs is 100.00%, so I’m sure there remain isolated incidents of Republicans acting like civilized people.

The other Darren Wilson speaks about policing in the Greater STL area. He’s the one who was mistaken for the actual Officer Wilson who shot and killed Mike Brown.

This Darren Wilson is the head of Ethical Society of Police. And he’s African American.

And what he describes in his experiences in the STL police department applies to many other departments around the country. Departments that don’t recruit, let alone hire or promote, minorities. Departments that don’t interact with the community and foster positive relationships.

It’s a must read.

It’s strange, as I picture most folks here as being Eisenhower conservatives, while I tend to think of myself as a liberal. Of course, Eisenhower was basically a liberal. Also, I tend to have little patience for bullshit from either end of the spectrum, so this site is comfortable to me.

I’m old enough to remember “I Like Ike” buttons in elementary school. It seemed like a pretty simplistic slogan. As I recall, though, I preferred Adlai Stevenson. Republicans have just always put me off.

That little humor quip actually points out the major issue I have with current American politics, namely: Too many people just blindly vote their party and don’t really stop and think about what they feel on the issues. If more people actually contemplated their own views and voted according to their own consciences, I think we’d be a lot better off. Among other things, it would mean politicians actually listened to what their constituents said, rather than resting secure in the knowledge that their party affiliation ensures their re-election as long as they don’t get involved in a boneheaded scandal.

Yep. One of my favorites and since he is not Scottish we had some leeway in choice.

Well, I refused to try and get the CA tartan. Black Watch was much better.
