Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has accused US Republican senators of “deceit” for intending to scrap any nuclear deal once President Barack Obama’s term ends. Khamenei was reacting to a recent Republican letter…
…Referring to the Republicans written intention to override any Obama deal with Iran, Khamenei reportedly asked, “Isn’t this the ultimate degree of the collapse of political ethics and the US system’s internal disintegration?”

It seems that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, did not see the humor in what Senate Republicans are now trying to characterize as a “Light-Hearted, Cheeky” Joke. It’s painfully obvious that those same Senate Republicans are woefully ignorant of the fact that Iran is armed to the teeth with modern weapons, many of which are manufactured in Iran, and that shock and awe will not cause the Iranians to throw down their weapons and flee. In one careless and hubristic move the Republican Senators managed to not just shred the Constitutional separation of powers, they also managed to damage the credibility of this President and his successors in office in any negotiation.

The GOP is running their political campaigns on the basis of xenophobia and with that comes the provincialism that keeps them from analyzing the world through a calculated eye.

Iran presents a complex dynamic for foreign policy because even though it is somewhat politically isolated by the US and American influenced nations, many nations in the world continue with tight relationships with it.

The GOP politicians count on their constituency not really caring about the rest of the world’s complex interactions. It’s just us-vs-them, good versus evil, you’re with us or you’re against us.

But the wingnuts know that if they start beating the war drums again overtly, the public will turn on their asses in a New York minute. So they’ve gotta soft sell it, downplay the dangers of military action and overplay the odds of success. And most importantly, totally avoid addressing what the actual consequences of a military strike on Iran would result in.

Because people, especially older folks, may not realize that the IRS will not call someone, let alone demand personal financial information over the phone. First contacts will be via letter on official letterhead. And the IRS has specific rules about how the Service handles tax disputes.

That’s not a handgun shot, not even close, and was not a shot a casual shooter could pull off. And another shot under those conditions hits a shoulder.

My friend didn’t tell me where we were going and ended up in a bar called Lucky’s that I think literally was a modular building or something similar way out in the county. Not one of them said yes. They said it’s theoretically possible but the guy would have to be a freakish shooter. The best response was, “Damn police chief in a news conference said 3 shots were fired @125 yards away. Then says he believes its a handgun. Was Jerry Miculek in ferguson last night?”

So, the gentlemen down at the corner store of the Internet feel this is a highly unlikely scenario. I am more than content to wait for facts, but i can tell when something is awfully hinky.

A guy I worked with in Jacksonville who was a surveyor also played guitar at some bars like that. One incident he saw involved a love triangle, a straight razor and one member of said triangle getting casually eviscerated while standing at the bar…

This was after he advocated the mass murder of the world’s Islamic population and the destruction of Mecca, along with summary street lynchings of Islamic terror suspects. Apparently, he is also a practicing MD.

The Genocidal Troll accused me of numerous ad hominem logical errors and then comlained I violated the blog’s civility terms.

This being after he adovcated religious genocide.

The article isn’t referencing the Hatch Act, which doesn’t seem to apply to uniformed members anyway. If she was on active duty, Article 88 of UCMJ would apply, but since she is National Guard, she would be outside the jurisdiction unless on active duty orders at the time of the signing. Which she wasn’t. The article actually references the Iowa Code of Military Justice, and a rough look says that the argument has merit.

The obvious problem being that in the context of her being a member of the Republican party, almost any public statement she makes against the Democratic party could be seen as violating the law. I don’t think anyone is going to attempt to take her commission for being a partisan hack.

For those of you unfamiliar with Hagee’s Cornerstone Church, it’s in a very wealthy area on the outskirts (farthest northern reaches) of San Antonio. It’s practically within spitting distance of the local country club (about 1/3 of a mile away, as the crow flies). Here’s a video advertising the latter—at about 21 seconds you’ll see an aerial view of the area that’ll give you a good idea of the type of neighborhood I’m talking about:

Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Ariel do (and Sleeping Beauty was actually an arranged marriage set up years before). Belle spends months with Beast before they hook up (of course, he’s an abusive kidnapper, so maybe even more disturbing), Jasmine doesn’t marry Aladdin until two sequels later, Pocahontas marries a completely different guy in the sequel. Rapunzel marries Flynn years later. Merida and Elsa don’t even have boyfriends at the end of their movies and Anna is just starting to date Christoff by the end. Tiana is a special case, because she thought she was going to have to spend the rest of her life as a frog when she married Naveen.

Frozen was still a direct thumb in the eye of the earlier Disney formula of love at first sight, and I am good with that even though I cherish and collect the earlier Disney movies. (the only ones I really do not care so much for are the mid 70’s to mid 80’s offerings before the Little Mermaid set the restart button on Disney anmation)

First movie I was able to go to by myself along with school friends was “That Darn Cat” 10 or 11 years old and being a bit smitten with Hayley Mills.

I can’t honestly remember the first one I saw in theaters. The Bill and Ted movie along with the Alvin and Chipmunks movie where they travel the world in competition with the Chipettes are two I can remember renting from Errols a lot and also the awful Babe Ruth bioepic with John Goodman.

First movie I remember seeing was Battle of the Bulge. Loved it when I was ten. Now I can’t stand it. Man, it sucks so bad now.

It did make me love Panzerlied until this very day.
