Meanwhile, Hate Group Leader Pamela Geller Is Still Deranged

The “jihadi in the White House”

I sometimes wonder if Pamela Geller ever gets tired of obsessively spewing this semi-literate nonsense about President Obama being a “Muslim commie atheist tyrant” who is stupid yet clever, weak yet all-powerful, sneaky yet obvious.

But then I remember: the right wing rubes she’s fleecing with this hate speech aren’t gonna bilk themselves: Pamela Geller: ‘Jihadi in the White House’ Is ‘The Most Dangerous Man in the World’.

“It’s an army,” Geller agreed. “The majority are young, fit and male. Four out of five are not from Syria. Why not go to a country where they speak the language and have the same culture? Why wouldn’t they go to Muslim countries?”

“Why is this being dumped on Europe?” she asked. “Because ISIS warned …that they intended to send an army of ISIS operatives in a migration to Europe.”

“And then you have that jihadi in the White House saying that he’s going to take, you know to ‘offer assistance,’ hundreds of thousands in,” she continued. “Well, does Europe offer assistance to us and take in Mexicans and Central Americans? He is the most dangerous man in the world, because he has the most power and he is the leader of the free world and he is aiding and abetting the global jihad movement at every turn, every turn.”

Geller added that the “tyrant” Obama is “dumping these communities from jihad nations” in American cities. “This is a government at war with its own people,” she said.

Charles Johnson,

Geller is probably really terrified that “Muslim Marxist tyrant Obama” is going to take her guns and force her into a Burqa at any moment now.

Charles Johnson,

I wonder if she’ll still be screaming about Obama, and how “evil”
he is, after the 2016 election, when he’s no longer president.

Not that the rages against Muslims and others don’t infuriate me but every time I see them call Latinos rapists and murderers, I can’t help but to think of the family that treats my brother like blood and has been welcoming to me too and of course my own niece.

From Lawyers, Guns and Money:

The government will run out of money on December 11. Unless additional funding is approved before that date, the government will shut down.

The House Freedom Caucus wants the next speaker to commit to not funding the government at all unless President Obama (and Senate Democrats) agree to defund Obamacare, Planned Parenthood and a host of other priorities. This is essentially the Ted Cruz strategy which prompted at 16-day shutdown in 2013. This would now be enshrined as the official policy of the Speaker Of The House.

The House Freedom Caucus wants the next speaker to commit to oppose any “omnibus” bill that would keep the government running. Rather, funding for each aspect of government could only be approved by separate bills. This would allow the Republicans to attempt to finance certain favored aspects of government (the military), while shuttering ones they view as largely unnecessary (education, health).

This is what you get when you figure out how to game the flaws in the Constitution. They are determined to break the country.

There is supposed to be one of these loon fests happening right now near me, at the Mansfield Islamic Center in Arlington, halfway between Dallas and Fort Worth. I haven’t seen any news but I would expect a large turnout of haters, bigots, and other Fox News viewers from the white-flight suburbs. They will be back tomorrow and probably in greater numbers. Their FB page is encouraging open carry for this event. Several groups were planning counter-demonstrations. I have some existing commitments, but I will try to be there too.

Yet another reason why I don’t believe in the armed society, polite society nonsense. A lot of gun owners are immature jackasses who shouldn’t be having weapons.

There’s a few red suburbs (I have the …joy… of living in one of the more red-leaning ones in SV) - particularly down south, where Orange County and some of the areas around the military bases comes to mind, but the Central Valley in particular in CA is hardcore Republican. The rural versus urban divide in the west is very, very clear.

The government has a word for when it’s more rural than rural: frontier.

Define Frontier

According to the Economic Research Service, “The term “frontier and remote” is used here to describe territory characterized by some combination of low population size and a high degree of geographic remoteness.” Identifying frontier areas help service providers identify the populations needs and the resources available to those areas.

I remember some wingnuts trying to make the argument that the country supported them more because they were winning more counties. I had to point out at the risk of sounding like an elitist that 25 small little counties shouldn’t count for more than 1 big county. The other fact of the matter though is Democrats represent districts that far resemble the country as a whole. They mention this in the RS article on the Freedumb Caucus but their districts are a lot more white than the nation as a whole.

The wingnuts went all “So do you libtards want to ban knives now?” It never crossed their mind that none of those children were killed. Savage is extremely unhappy with the current state of the NIH: “We have such corruption right now in science itself that there’s virtually almost no real, honest science anymore, and the best evidence I have for that is the fake global warming research. Almost every study [that] comes out is warped, it’s all corrupt.” Savage proposed that Trump appoint him head of the NIH so that he can “clean up” the corruption and America can have “real science and real medicine again.”

Trump responded, “I think that’s great,” adding, “I hear so much about the NIH and it’s terrible.” He told Savage that he knew he would bring “common sense” to the institution.

Besides, I thought Ben was more horrified by the idea of gun confiscaton than the bullets. I guses that didn’t apply to himself. Here in the San Gabriel foothills we’re enduring SoCal’s Indian Summer. It’s only 104° today. It will over 100° tomorrow and Sunday as well. El Niño is predicted to be strong so hopefully we’ll see rain after the heat breaks. Too much rain too quickly will be bad for SoCal because we’ve had so many fires over the past few years. There is very little greenery to hold the hills behind town here, for instance. City Engineering has been putting up sandbag walls and Jersey barriers at strategic points. We had the same situation a couple of decades ago and outcome was mud more than nine feet deep in some parts of town.

He watches everything like he is watching a video game. The actual ramifications of the politics mean nothing. It’s all moves in a game, and at the end there are winners and losers. That’s it. It means nothing beyond the game.

A few weeks back I heard Chris Matthews telling someone to never expect a Walter Cronkite or Edward R. Murrow ever again. It no longer works that way. I’ve been saying that for some time. Chris didn’t give any reasons, but I suspect he knows it is all about ratings. The game.

The prosecutor, deputy county attorney Bruce Chalk, and the defense attorney, Natasha Wrae, largely agree on why Mota was acquitted. Arizona’s 2006 “stand your ground” law makes it hard to convict a defendant with even a slightly credible claim of self-defense.

Under the 2006 law, we have no duty to retreat before using deadly force in self-defense if we’re someplace where we’re allowed to be and we’re not engaged in a crime.

As Mota’s case shows, under the law, it doesn’t matter whether your fear is based on facts. It can be a gut instinct. Basically, if you get scared to death, you can kill the person scaring you.

I’ve been seeing this Jesus/gun connection for a long time but I don’t understand it. There is a Baptist church in Lubbock that gave away a bunch of guns as door prizes when they had some itinerant drunkard “religious freedom advocate” there for a speaking engagement. I’ve seen fundies preach the Second Amendment as though it were part of the Bible, and with their usual concern for accuracy that they apply in interpreting the Bible (none at all).
You can see yourselves that social media are infested with kooks who take the gun-Jesus connection for granted. I also see it in the gun business, especially among retailers and the smaller manufacturers.
Where did this come from? Do they not realize that atheists and heathens can also use guns?

John Kasich on Social Security cuts: ‘Get over it’

Washington (CNN) - Ohio Gov. John Kasich said Friday that a New Hampshire audience member would “get over” cuts to Social Security payments as a result of his reform plan — and the left is already pouncing on the comment.

The Republican presidential candidate was asked about entitlement reform during NH1’s “Fiscal Fridays” series in Concord, New Hampshire, on Friday, and he said it was something that would have to get done.

When an audience member expressed concerns about his proposal to lower benefits, his response was “Well, you’d get over it, and you’re going to have to get over it”.

There’s a few red suburbs (I have the …joy… of living in one of the more red-leaning ones in SV) - particularly down south, where Orange County and some of the areas around the military bases comes to mind, but the Central Valley in particular in CA is hardcore Republican. It really emphasizes the divide.

The rural-urban divide can even be seen in Texas. Many years ago I was was running early and browsed in a Dallas gun shop to kill some time, never having done that before.

While there, I picked up some second amendment literature, being clueless as to the political implications of carrying such things. When I went to my destination, I was surprised to be asked if I was a gun nut.

“In the Bible!”

Supposedly the account belongs to Auernheimer. Not that this really matters since Shannon Knutsen’s @GotNewsResearch account was banned for the same thing this account is doing, attempting to give Chuck access to Twitter in circumvention of his ban.

Remember if you’re going to report an account to use the long form, because it allows you to submit more information about why you’re requesting action. For instance, you can cite all of Chuck’s previous banned accounts (@ChuckCJohnson / @CitizenTrolling / @FreeChuckNow / @GotNewsResearch)

The one failing of that form is that it doesn’t allow for circumventing of a ban as a reason for a report, so cite “harassment” as the reason since targeted harassment was the official reason for all of the suspensions and eventual banning of Chuck’s original account.

One of my projects was the localization of our software. It was made even more interesting by the company’s Marketing-driven decision to rely on a video walkthrough that guided the user through the install and feature setup in real time.
Me: “Boss, you do know that we’re going to have to hire another actress who speaks the language and shoot another video for every one.”
Boss: “Just record one of them and see if you can use some software to dub it without looking dubbed.”

Well, I remember yesterday quoting a friend of mine who said that Chuck “Poopmeister” Johnson was a friend of white supremacist and hacker Andrew “Weev” Auernheimer.

There’s more today. They’re definitely in bed together,.

The notorious hacker and troll Andrew “Weev” Auernheimer threatened on Thursday to shame “dozens” of US prosecutors who accessed adultery site Ashley Madison using their work computers—a doxing campaign in retaliation for the US government “wrongfully” prosecuting hackers.

A few hours after he announced his threat in a characteristically bombastic email, the name and personal information of an assistant US district attorney was published on the website of the controversial independent reporter Chuck Johnson.

“Here’s the first,” Johnson, who is working with Auernheimer on this campaign, wrote in the post. “He’s based in New York and used Ashley Madison at work.”

The name published on the site does correspond to that of a prosecutor, and the IP address appears to be associated to a US Department of Justice server, according to an internet search. It’s worth noting that the IP address can’t be directly associated with the prosecutor, and it’s possible that the prosecutor was using Ashley Madison for work reasons.

more at the link, obviously, and Motherboard does not name the prosecutor.

Google actually does the localization stuff such that if you provide the translations and have done your coding correctly, it’s very hands-off from the point of view of the developer. They’ll swap in the appropriate text strings for the user’s language (and a few other things) as long as you have that info. Otherwise it falls back on the default language you provide.

You apparently need a full dose of Jesus in order to aim better than an Imperial Stormtrooper.

OT, but I thought it was a hoot:

A guide to local weather in Wisconsin

+90°F: Dangerously hot. Torrid. Insufferable. Check on elderly neighbors, bring pets indoors. Hospitals inundated with heatstroke victims.

+80°F: Very hot! We’d be in trouble wit’out dat air conditioning, hey? Get lots of fluids, don’t exert yourself.

+70°F: Hot.

+60°F: Balmy. Nice day—not too hot.

+50°F: Crisp. In early Autumn, cause for anticipation. In early Springtime, considered hot.

+40°F: Brisk. Fewer kids seen playing outdoors in T-shirts.

+30°F: Bring in the garden hoses! Kids should wear sweatshirts even if they don’t want to.

+20°F: Deer huntin’ weather, hey? Be sure to get outdoors and enjoy the nice day.

+10°F: Gettin’ kinda cold. Time to break out the winter coats!

0°F: Put off washing the car. No more barbeque on the Weber. Start to leave furnace on during the day.

-10°F: Winter’s here, oh yay. Wear your good mittens. Close windows in kids’ rooms at night. Wisconsites greet each other by saying, “Cold enough for you?” More than half answer, “Nope, not me, I like it!”

-20°F: In summer you make fun of us, but this is why we’re fat: fat is darn good insulation. No sledding for the smaller children, if it’s windy.

-30°F: Two words: heated dipstick! Dogs can sleep indoors. Outdoorsmen know what separates the men from the boys: good hats.

-40°F: Cold makes the news. More than a week of this and it reaches the pipes. Even skinflints turn up the furnace.

-50°F: We hardly ever get this nice a cold any more, thanks to that darn global warming. Schools close. Holes for ice fishing hard to keep open without turning on the Coleman in the fishing shed.

-60°F: SUVs won’t start. Better put off Wal-Mart trip till tomorrow.

-70°F: Exposed flesh freezes. What the heck is this, Minnesota?

-70 is pretty much unheard of around these parts. We get about half a week, give or take a few days, where the air temperature drops to or below -40 at night in January. Ironically, those are usually the clearest, most beautiful winter days imaginable.

Well, you know - the same folks who tell you every single word of the Bible must be taken literally, as inerrant truth, not subject to interpretation, will tell you that there was this mountain pass near Jerusalem called the Eye of The Needle, so it’s really not all that hard for a rich guy to get into heaven.

The thing about tornadoes is that having one come through your town, destroy your home and kill a bunch of people won’t stop another one coming through tomorrow.

Earthquakes here, a really big one and you’re good to go for another 109 years (so far).

Ca, among others, has made great progress in making structures much more earthquake resistant. It’s tombstone progress; people had to die before those enhanced building codes and requirements were finally pushed through. The Sylmar quake was, IIRC, what did it.
