Top Ten CIA Lies
Posted by Frank J. on July 13, 2009 at 12:06 pm
The Democrats led by Pelosi have been saying the CIA has lied to them. But what are those lies?
TOP TEN LIES OF THE CIA THE DEMOCRATS HAVE ALLEGED
10. Half the intelligence they give Congress is about non-existent countries like Freedonia and New Caprica.
9. Instead of for necessary intelligence, waterboarding was often used to get terrorists to admit who is their daddy.
8. Sometimes they’d say it’s a nice day out when it was actually overcast.
7. Last couple Osama bin Laden videos were actually of a muppet.
6. They told Congress they’d get to meet Alias, but it ends up Jennifer Garner was never actually employed by them.
5. When asked what CIA stands for, they said they didn’t know.
4. They completely made up Kim Jong Il.
3. Details of their cooperative work with MI6 had actually came straight from a James Bond movie.
2. Though they vowed not to interfere with Iran, ends up they were distributing literature comparing Ahmadinejad’s penis unfavorably with that of a squirrel’s.
And the number one lie of the CIA the Democrats have alleged…
They told Nancy Pelosi she was looking lovely one day.

Facebook is simply flaky about permissions. I used to visit one of it’s public pages periodically; sometimes it would work, other times it would demand login, even though the owner never changed anything. Same with pages set to ‘private’; some days, they’re open to all.

Obama’s science czar suggested compulsory abortion, sterilization
By: DAVID FREDDOSO
Commentary Staff Writer
07/14/09 4:55 PM EDT
Internet reports are now circulating that Obama’s Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy, John Holdren, penned a 1977 book that approved of and recommended compulsory sterilization and even abortion in some cases, as part of a government population control regime.
Given the general unreliability of Internet quotations, I wanted to go straight to this now-rare text and make sure the reports were both accurate and kept Holdren’s writings in context. Generally speaking, they are, and they do.
I’ve never heard of the Washington Examiner. Is it flaky, or mainstream?

OT: Here is something that seems outrageous and stupid until you understand how government works -
NASA to junk International Space Station in 2010 - more years spent building it than operating it.
This is how government gets bigger. A rumor of a budget “cut” starts circulating in DC, and the affected agency head gets together with his/her lackeys and develops a media campaign.
Lackey “X” then sets up a lunch with journalist “Y” and tells journalist “Y” : “Understand that this completely ‘on background’ and that you can’t quote me, but I had lunch with the agency head yesterday and s/he said that we are probably going to have to defund [insert most popular, high profile program here which would seem insane to get rid of].”
Journalist “Y” says - “Are you serious? How can you guys even be thinking of THAT?”
Lackey “X” responds - “Well, in this budget environment we have to look at a lot of things. And while that program is very popular with taxpayers, there are many smaller scale projects that represent important work that return real but less visible value to the taxpayers. So it may seem insane at first, but taken together with all of our responsibilities we can deliver more services to the taxpayer by cutting one big program rather than a great many small but effective ones.”
Journalist “Y” says - “I can’t quote you on this? Who can I call for confirmation?”
Lackey “X” suggests that a reluctant Lackey “Z” might be willing to confirm it, but on background. And just to keep it all confidential, Lackey “X” hands journalist “Y” the home phone number (which he just happens to have) of Lackey “Z”.
Journalist “Y” then files his scoop, taxpayers call their congressional representatives and supplemental moneys are added to the budget for that program. So the “cut” comes to the agency with a supplemental for that one program and the agency then ends up with more money than the prior year. Oh - as an added bonus, the agency head then gets to talk about how s/he implemented the “cuts” very effectively at the next oversight committee meeting in congress.
And the game goes on.

Not long, I suppose. All the R’s have to do to win is to promise and deliver real tax rate cuts. Only then will our economy recover. why are leftists so blind to this? why are they so intent on destroying everything? Between the left’s tired old ideas and their punitive tax rates (pedaled as new ideas wrapped in fatty fear-mongering badness) the economy will be devastated. But the proggies insist we must save health care with a government take-over. The “fierce moral urgency” of devastation.

Only if its name was Charlotte.
This morning my wife discovered a black widow with all her budding brood inside the little-dog patioshelter on our patio. Much screaming and recrimination for putting the Yorkie and Pom at risk, there followed an intense period of stomping, spraying and general visitation of spider destruction on their happy litttle home.

Facebook is simply flaky about permissions. I used to visit one of it’s public pages periodically; sometimes it would work, other times it would demand login, even though the owner never changed anything. Same with pages set to ‘private’; some days, they’re open to all.
Crappy software running the site, apparently.
I’ve experienced the same flakiness. I can sometimes get info on Non custodial parents that I’m looking for (I’m a support enforcement agent) and sometimes I wants me to log in (not gonna happen)
213 | Throbert McGee Tue, Jul 14, 2009 4:35:34pm |
Thanks for the feedback, guys! Now I finally get how Facebook works — see, there’s this option for letting “Everyone” view your profile content or photos or whatever. And being sometimes as literal-minded as Amelia Bedelia (the world’s most literal-minded maid!), I just assumed that “Everyone” meant everyone on the Web, when in fact it means everyone with an active Facebook account.
D’oh!
Okay, so now I’ll have to upload the cartoon to Photobucket so’s that people can satisfy their curiosity. But here’s the exchange between me and Tyler Magill (a straight buddy of mine from UVa — we both wrote for the same stoont humor magazine):
Tyler Magill at 12:38pm July 6
I remember “theoretical bisexuals.” Is that still the term, or has it been changed to “terminal pants-shitter” yet?Rob McGee at 9:18am July 14
I believe that the current term of art is “genderqueer” — as in, “I’m not actually ‘queer’ at all in the word’s generally understood sense; I don’t wear the clothes of the opposite sex, nor do I enjoy slurping on genitals belonging to members of the same sex, but nonetheless I’m going to insist on having my own special bathroom lest anyone think I’m a supporter of The Man. Also, there’s nothing else very interesting about me.”My preferred term, however, is “straggot,” coined by analogy to “wigger.”
(Incidentally, I would say that overall the tone of the magazine we both used to write for could’ve been called “South Park Republican,” although it was several years before South Park existed. That’s in keeping with the general atmosphere at UVa — it’s certainly a rightward-leaning public university, yet it’s not crazy-conservative. )

Hi Lizards!
I’m on dial up so slow tonight.. I’m running slow…OT
What the hell is it about Dogs? You spend 20 minutes bathing them and blow drying till they look absolutely beautiful and the first thing they do is run outside and roll in the mud? Winston will run full speed for 20 yards and dive into the grass and end up on his back… He is taunting me..
Hey Hoopster! I know where I poop everyday…Check this out!

Was it a black widow, a brown recluse?
If not its worth an upding.
I believe it was a grass spider. They can sometimes get in window sills. This one ended up in my sink, under my drying rack, and couldn’t get out. So I trapped him with a cup and slid an envelope under him and put him back outside. Or her- not sure. I’m just glad it’s not in my sink anymore.

In order to see what image they are hotlinking, I would have to go to the porn site link, and I don’t want to do that.
Anyway how can you pwn a hotlink on a site that probably already displays goatse and tubgrl?

By the way, do any other lizards who live or used to live in the DC Metro area remember the ads for Jhoon Rhee taekwondo? That’s sort of a rhetorical question, because this is one of those locally-produced low-budget TV ads that became an instant, indelible classic — you couldn’t NOT remember it, if you ever saw it once…
P.S. That little Korean-American girl at the end of the commercial grew up to attend graduate school (med school, I think) at the University of Virginia, at the same time I was an undergrad, and she still practiced taekwondo in the gym. (I never introduced myself to her or anything, though, because what on earth could you say to a TV legend?)

You’re University of Virginia? Do you know Karl Shapiro’s famous poem about it?
University
—Karl ShapiroTo hurt the Negro and avoid the Jew
Is the curriculum. In mid-September
The entering boys, identified by hats,
Wander in a maze of mannered brick
Where boxwood and magnolia brood
And columns with imperious stance
Like rows of ante-bellum girls
Eye them, outlanders. In whited cells, on lawns equipped for peace,
Under the arch, and lofty banister,
Equals shake hands, unequals blankly pass;
The exemplary weather whispers, “Quiet, quiet”
And visitors on tiptoe leave
For the raw North, the unfinished West,
As the young, detecting an advantage,
Practice a face.Where, on their separate hill, the colleges,
Like manor houses of an older law,
Gaze down embankments on a land in fee,
The Deans, dry spinsters over family plate,
Ring out the English name like coin,
Humor the snob and lure the lout.
Within the precincts of this world
Poise is a club. But on the neighboring range, misty and high,
The past is absolute: some luckless race
Dull with inbreeding and conformity
Wears out its heart, and comes barefoot and bad
For charity or jail. The scholar
Sanctions their obsolete disease;
The gentleman revolts with shame
At his ancestor. And the true nobleman, once a democrat,
Sleeps on his private mountain. He was one
Whose thought was shapely and whose dream was broad;
This school he held his art and epitaph.
But now it takes from him his name,
Falls open like a dishonest look,
And shows us, rotted and endowed,
Its senile pleasure.
Clemson coming to town?

First time I’ve heard of Shapiro or this poem — surprisingly enough, it wasn’t part of the cherished lore at UVa. There was, I think, still a faint echo of what Shapiro wrote about, pre-WWII, when I was an undergrad in the early ’90s — at least, there was occasionally an air of Suth-thun aristocrat pretentiousness about the place. But at the same time, it can assure you that the campus grounds of Mr. Jefferson’s University were awash in Negroes and Jews, and they’d even been letting women in since the early ’70s!
In my senior fourth year, I had an affair with a member and past president of Alpha Epsilon Pi — the UVa chapter of which was known as “the Jewish fraternity.” My closeted fratboy was also the star QB of his high-school football team, and basically looked like Alley Oop with blue eyes — ooof, good times. I’m pretty sure he’s a lawyer now.
