Almost any unmoderated forum will produce such results. Freeper's encouragement simply exacerbates the issue.

There's a lot of haters in this world. In point of fact Charles prevents the writing of hate-speech words. In fact bigoted words like R*g***d is not something that can be written here. A form of moderation, but of specific words and not content.

So is the reduction of hate words a function of the community or the host?

How much of the allowing of hate words is the responsibility of the host and how much the writer?

Freedom of Speech is a tricky Subject but I think it allows the owner of a publication the right to deny sppech he or she disagrees with. So long as the guv'mint doesn't do it.

There's something about the title "Freeper" that is inherently cute. I wish the thing itself was cuter. I mean, if you didn't know what a Freeper was, you'd think it was a little furry thing with big eyes that went 'Freep! Freep!' when it wanted an ear-scratch.

Instead, they're just unpleasant people who talk a lot of nonsense.

These people have a very selective knowledge of history. Remind me to tell you sometime about the more than one screaming arguments I've gotten into with people about the supposed connection between the Nazis and Gay Liberation.

Also, they feel extremely threatened by gay people. For some of them 'homophobia' is not a euphemism, it is an exact description.

The man he's talking to clearly thinks about trying to explain, and gives up. "Yes," he says, "I am a gay robot." And they talk about something else.

That's awfully complicated to explain. It's funny when he says it. There are t-shirts with the line on them.

Someone told the woman in charge of the sign that this was on the same lines as "Turkeys for Thanksgiving", and she was not amused.

There are plenty of Arabs who are law-abiding Israeli citizens who chose to live and work in Israel. It'd say the war has made it very hard to maintain good relations for either side.

I had a Palestinian gay hairdresser years ago. He escaped into Israel, stayed a few years, and then came to school here in the states where he got his citizenship. The guy's a trip and is more than thankful to be rockin in the free world lol
