I've sort of following the Copenhagen conference live (and occasionally writing about it here), and it is both humorous and sad to see how not just the "climategate" scandal has gotten play (but just a bit) and especially disheartening to see how wide the gap is between what needs to be done and where the American electorate appears to be sitting.

BTW, watching the opening Plenary session, it was indeed the Saudi representative who raised "climategate" and questioned the science.

Let's be accurate here: that is a petition to the APS, by a handful of members who have tried similar things in the past. The people involved have tried and failed before simply because their claims are ludicrous.
