Tonight’s Creationist Message from ‘Sarah Palin’

Humor • Views: 2,707

Hi everyone! Sarah here…

Ya know, isn’t it just great how awesome Americans are taking charge of schools this way? This is a great movement in America, and it just makes me so proud to be a Conservative American!

You know, lots of left-wing stuff gets taught to our kids at school today - really bad stuff that terrorists write from overseas like from Soviet Russiana or France. You know, stuff that doesn’t really make any sense which is why we Americans don’t come up with it!

And there’s a reason for this: Scientists.

Now, I know to a lot of you in this audience, that is a dirty word, and I agree! After all, have you ever seen a scientist with a good hair cut? You betcha haven’t! The fact is that they don’t wash much at all, and they’re trying to do the same to our kids: make them dirty.

You know, it’s important to keep our kids clean because it’s part of the great plan for God’s America, which I fully support, and I know you do as well.

That’s why I support changing the school books nationwide to reflect this stand against leftist science which really is Obama’s kinda Marxism. And I should know! Remember, I can see Russia from my porch!

You know, that’s why I also support home schooling for God’s children - the children who pray to the right kinda God on the right side of the issue. Because, we all know how old the earth really is, don’t we? We don’t need to spend billions of dollars to try to find out the answer to a question we’ve had answered in our book since thousands of years!

The fact is that instead of pointing the big telescope “Bubble” thing in the sky outwards, they should point it on the Bible and read God’s word real close.

Maybe then those scientists might get a clue!

Well, I’m going to keep asking these questions, because they’re important questions! And I’m going to keep sticking up for people who are trying to take back science from the scientists!

See you all later?

You betcha!

Well, since we are on the subject of Sarah....The Washington Independent posted today that per Dan Riehl she was going to collect 100K for appearing at the tea party convention. The tea partiers were pissed that one of their groups spent 1000+ on a steak dinner, so I'm not sure how this is going to fly.

After you're done with your well-deserved rest, maybe you'd consider calling up your good buddy Michelle Bachmann and posting a transcript of the conversation?

Did Glenn Beck really say, on TV, that if "someone said you had a case of Ganges, you'd want Cipro?"

I mean, I just saw him say it on the Daily Show, but I'm doubting my own eyes.

50 jamesfirecat  Thu, Jan 7, 2010 7:37:20pm

re: #45 freetoken

Well it was my understanding that the post at the top of the page had been constructed by a member of LFG itself rather then put up on Sarah Palin's face book page/twitter account, hence why we're the lizards who eat our own tails when we comment about it.

Not that there's anything truely wrong with that, its late at night we should all be able to unwind and have a laugh.

It's satire. People either enjoy it or not, no sense arguing about it. We'll go at it more heatedly on posts which have two sides to them.

Obviously it is a parody.

Yet all one has to do is read The Sarah's facebook page to realize that the parody is rooted in truth.

Or take any one of the many sites of her disciples, such as the warmly colored TeamSarah website. That image of her on the front of their newsletter says much.

61 avanti  Thu, Jan 7, 2010 7:39:54pm

Now skigate:

How can another blog start a thread with a post about the national security adviser not interrupting his skiing vacation for the underwear bomber, than provide a link that contradicts it's own story ? From their own link.

"The White House is throwing its support behind National Counterterrorism Director Michael Leiter, defending him against a news report that suggested he was vacationing during the attempted bombing of an airliner on Christmas and its aftermath.

Denis McDonough, National Security Council Chief of Staff, said Leiter was at his McLean headquarters on Dec. 25, and only left for a planned family vacation the next day after consulting with the White House and the national intelligence director. He said the travel did not affect in any way Leiter's ability to remain engaged with all elements of the U.S. government, including national security staff in Hawaii.

Leiter took his son on a six-day vacation to celebrate his 7th birthday and visit his grandparents."

Typical comment on the tread:

"Seems to me that there will HAVE to be a major terrorist attack against the US for these cocksuckers to wake up and do their fucking JOBS!

When (not if, when) that occurs, I will go on a war of my own against the Muslims. Lone wolf, so to speak. And I won’t be the only one out there."

IMO, the only reason the son was elected is because his name is identical to his father's (when not using the middle initial). Not that a (D) would have won this district, but the GOP nomination for this district was hard wired for the original Hunter's son.

True, & I suppose we might as well have a good time ...

You aren't a true American until you can make fun of all politicians and talking heads.. It's true...It's an American thing...
In fact in many naturalization tests they ask you questions like:
What are Bill Clinton's favorite Cigars?
Say something about Joe Biden without bringing up hair plugs...
Why does Sarah Palin keep having her childrens Babies?
Who was last years American Idol?
....
It's a tough test to be an American

I am about 75% done updating the Zionist Mall!

I am still having problems with the CS4 templates. When I was using mega-sucky Frontpage, whenever I made a change to a template, a little dialog box popped up and said "Update all the files attached to this template" and I clicked on "Yes" and all the files updated. CS4 won't do that! Now I paid a shitload of money for CS4 so it really should do something as simple as automatically updating attached files, doncha think?

Yesterday I "almost" thought I had it, when I unchecked this little box in Dreamweaver site manager that said "don't rewrite document relative paths" and that automatically updated all the attached files but it broke all the freaking templates!

I searched Google for a user forum that discusses this, but I'm still waiting for the admin to approve my forum message.

I keep all my passwords different in case somebody gets their hands on one of them. But it never fails; at least a few times a year when I am paying my bills online, there is one damn password I can't remember. 183 Charles Johnson  Thu, Jan 7, 2010 9:04:24pm

Can anyone tell what Glenn Reynolds is trying to say in his latest update?

[Link: pajamasmedia.com...]

UPDATE: Charles now updates, several days late, and says:

Reynolds updated his post again to say he does think the picture is racist, despite the appearance that he was excusing it (and I wasn’t the only one to think so). According to Glenn Reynolds, he was reacting against “cheap and bogus charges of racism.”

Except that isn’t what I said at all. I said that I thought the pic was racist, but was trying to be fair to the Democrat who sent it around when someone (Tom Maguire, hardly some white supremacist) suggested things might be otherwise. The “cheap and bogus charges of racism” bit is above. This is just as misleading as his original characterization of my post. In the past, I’ve relied on Charles’ assessments of other blogs and bloggers, and it’s now clear that was a mistake on my part.

Charles, I wish you well, but . . . well, I don’t really have much else I want to say right now.

All I can get from this is that he's pissed off at me for calling him out on a very lame attempt to make excuses for a racist picture. He did write the very words he says he didn't write, and then says he did write. But it's "misleading" somehow? WTF? He's not making any sense.

But since I haven't relied on Glenn Reynolds for much of anything in quite a while, I can't say the feeling is mutual.

184 soap_man  Thu, Jan 7, 2010 9:05:00pm

As for Summer's post, it reminds me of something that happened a few weeks ago.

I met a Republican woman who was running for a seat on one of the local boards. About Palin's age, maybe a bit younger, and very attractive. We got to talking and she is incredibly knowledgeable. She answered every question I had in a very concise and complete fashion. I couldn't help but think that she is going to have a tough time getting elected to a modest seat in local government, while Palin has a damn fan club that is millions deep.

Strange world we live in.

He's deflecting the issue. Rather than confront the intent of brought him to this he's managed to turn this into his own personal martyr play. No one even called him a racist.

Seems odd that this has been such a common theme: racism. Odd in that instead of accepting the presence of racism they see the opposite. It's odd too that instead of defending themselves on principle or reversing their view on principle; they instead do so for their own personal political gain.

On this specific case, how can they not see the racist subtext of the image in question. They have lowered Obama into the likeness of a Jim Crow era black man shining the shoes of his culturally superior (as they see it and in fact many see it as racially superior, i.e. the racists) white woman, Sarah Palin.

Evening all.

I hate to go off topic, but I was hoping someone could answer a LGF question for me.

Since I joined, it seems that after every flounce, someone (usually Charles) comments that they were from the "Class of 2004." What happened in 2004? What was it about that year that gave it such a high flounce rate in 2009/2010? Why not 2006? Or 2008?

It was the time registration was first required. True.

I would contend that around this time (and for the next few years) Charles was taking a sane stand against the crazyness of the far left - a far left that was everywhere in traditional media. And he had extremely informative posts about radical Islam and Israel. With links to great people and sources of information that I would have otherwise never found.

I agree -- this attitude is everywhere on the right wing blogs. They complain that they're being labeled as racists unjustly, even as they make excuses for blatantly racist images like the shoe shine picture, or the picture of Obama with a bone through his nose.

Right, I agree. As I pointed out no one called him out as racist and neither do I. However, when one defends such things they are in the end making a deal with the proverbial devil all in the name of advancing a political goal. Others would argue however that that in itself does have its own set of negative social consequences. Or as others have said before, it effectively mainstreams racialized views.

I often wonder how they can possibly maintain a near constant state of negative energy. Not just this example but most of them. Reading TCOT is like, I can't think of what to compare it to. It's just a constant stream of ragging.

BTW, just noticed that some them are angry at Sarah Palin because she took a jab at CPAC.

Yes, they're angry at Sarah Palin -- she bailed on CPAC because she's in a personal spat with the organizers, but she's going to speak at another conference because she's getting paid a lot of money for it.

None of them are the least bit concerned about having the John Birch Society at CPAC, however.

Ah, so I imagine the spat was about money. She'll word it to make it based on some principle or another.

Yes, no criticism of the John Birch Society based on principle. It trickles down in the form of political arguments. The latter day William F. Buckley is out and anti-intellectualism.

Time to bash the intelligentsia and paint them all as being on the left. Go even further and blame all of societies ills on intellectuals. Don't think, just react and say no to everything; someone says yellow, and you're supposed to say green.

Even so, he never lost sight of sanity. The same cannot be said of Sarah Palin, which in many ways is the whole point of this thread.

He was highly educated and erudite. He also had his own New England style earthiness to him. For the most part he was civil except in the case of being near Gore Vidal. One of the things that was admirable about him was that he would interview individuals regardless of political stripe. That is he would always leave the door open to new ideas.

282 Racer X  Thu, Jan 7, 2010 10:13:38pm

A young monk arrives at the monastery.

He is assigned to helping the other monks in copying the old canons and laws of the church by hand.

He notices, however, that all of the monks are copying from copies, not from the original manuscript. So, the new monk goes to the head Abbot to question this, pointing out that if someone made even a small error in the first copy, it would never be picked up! In fact, that error would be continued in all of the subsequent copies.

The head monk, says, 'We have been copying from the copies for centuries, but you make a good point, my son!

He goes down into the dark caves underneath the monastery where the original manuscripts are held as archives
in a locked vault that hasn't been opened for hundreds of years.

Hours go by and nobody sees the old abbot . . .

So, the young monk gets worried and goes down to look for him. He sees him banging his head against the wall and wailing. 'We missed the R!

We missed the R!

We missed the R!'

His forehead is all bloody and bruised and he is crying uncontrollably.

The young monk asks the old abbot, what's wrong, father?'

With a choking voice, the old abbot replies, the word was...

'CELEBRATE!!!

Why is my central heat and air pumped through vents in the ceiling? Don't people know that heat rises!?!?!

If the ceiling vents are being used for air conditioning in the Summer, then they will work well, for the converse property of cool air falling. Typically in a 2 story house with forced-air system, the first floor with be heated/cooled by vents in the floor from a system in the basement, and the second floor will be heated/cooled by the system in the attic.

re: #282 Racer X

Two monks were returning to the monastery in the evening. It had rained and there were puddles of water on the road sides. At one place a beautiful young woman was standing unable to walk accross because of a puddle of water. The elder of the two monks went up to a her lifted her in his alms and left her on the other side of the road, and continued his way to the monastery.
In the evening the younger monk came to the elder monk and said, "Sir, as monks, we cannot touch a woman ?"
The elder monk answered "yes, brother".
Then the younger monk asks again, " but then Sir, how is that you lifted that woman on the roadside ?"
The elder monk smiled at him and told him " I left her on the other side of the road, but you are still carrying her "

Yeah, it can be annoying. We've actually been cold here lately, some snow but not much really. The previous years we've had up to 24 inches at one time. Saving grace is that it's not really damp like in other part of the country. Still am glad I don't have to commute.

Thought that might be the case. Owning a car in Chicago would be really expensive. I went through that in San Francisco. Plus in SF you would have to drive around for 45 minutes to find a parking space. Insurance is also very high and a garage in any case is cost prohibitive. So off to MUNI I would schlep. One routine I had would be to walk down hill and take the cable car back up. As a kid, pops didn't have a car for a long time when we lived in Brooklyn.

300 Archon  Thu, Jan 7, 2010 10:45:55pm

Back to the top for a moment:

Hi, everyone, -- Barack here.

You know, isn't it great how awesome Americans are taking charge of their own security this way? Well, yes, I know, it was a Dutchman who pounced on the Glorious Emasculator -- I mean, the isolated extremist who didn't care what it cost him to make things so unpleasant for all the rest of the folk who just wanted to get to Detroit. But the Dutchman was coming here, too, and he took action just when it was needed! All the rest of the security measures didn't mesh too well, and believe me, heads are rolling about that. But our line of last resort held, just as it was meant to, and all Americans can be proud of what took place on an American airliner landing in America! This is a great movement for our country, and it makes me so proud to be your President!

You know, lots of crazy stuff gets taught to immigrants today - really bad stuff that extremists teach them from places overseas, like Nigeria or Yemen. You know, stuff that doesn’t really make any sense which is why we Americans don’t come up with it!

And there’s a reason for this: the big insurers and pharmaceuticals.

Now, I know to a lot of you in this audience, that is a dirty word, and I agree! After all, have you ever seen an insurer or pharmaceuticalist in a decent pair of boxer shorts? You sure as shootin' haven’t! The fact is that they don’t want to underwrite any capitalist Jockeys -- I mean lackeys, and they’re trying to do the same to our immigrants: make them get a prescription if they can't sew their own.

You know, it’s important to keep our newest citizens in boxers because it’s part of my great plan for a hang-loose America, of which I am a long-time supporter (joke!), and I know you are as well -- because you saw to it that I won the election.

That’s why I support changing the law books nationwide to reflect this stand against the big insurers and drug companies, which really is the Republicans’ kind of fascism. And I should know! Remember, I can see Hyde Park from my front porch! (Ha, ha -- anyone remember Henry Hyde these days? Just a joke . . . )

You know, that’s why I'm also for abortion on demand -- right up to the moment of birth, and even for a little while afterward! (There's nothing like getting a good look before having to make a decision, is there?) Because, we all know where real life begins, don’t we? We don’t need to spend billions of dollars to find out the answers to questions we’ve had answered in our book for thousands of years! The Bible leaves it up to women to say when life begins, and that's just the way it should be!

So let the teabaggers and the Blue Dogs object! We're going to get my healthcare bill passed -- regardless of who's against it! The fact is that instead of trying to see it all happen on C-Span, the people should just let their elected leaders do God’s work in the back room, and then present them with a finished product that's tailor-made for America.

'Cause that's the way we do things in a bipartisan government! Maybe then those Hyde-quoting diehards might get a clue!

Well, I’m going to keep pushing my agenda, because I won! And I’m going to keep sticking up for people who are trying to take back government from the nay-sayers and the Dittoheads!

* * *

And the point is? To show that anyone can engage in 'satire'?
