Coulter suggesting that conservatives wait until a month before the 2012 election to announce who's running so the media doesn't have time to tear them down. Brilliant.

Well, yes, in the sense that you cut actual Republican voters out of making a decision about who they want to run, and then trust that they'll just vote for whoever they're given. Not to mention the fact pointed out above, that you couldn't get them on the ballot. Is there something I'm missing here?

Ask Indiana democrats after the Bayh announcement this last week.
Ask New Jersey democrats a couple years ago after their candidate withdrew, allowing for the Lauthenberg election.
Didn't Dodd and Dorgan also withdraw to prevent primary runs by their successors?

Ron Paul think there was a secret coup and the CIA is running the country. Conservatives have jumped on the anti-CIA bandwagon. They also want to abolish the DHS, EPA, etc. It's just crazy talk.

Free and fair elections are an integral part of a functioning democracy. Primary shennanigans (sp?) and contested recounts get in the way of that lately.

There's an increasing Puerto Rican presence there, but I'm not sure how many would be eligible to vote, since many moved there recently.
