A fundraiser, which has since ended, was put together for Ron Paul's campaign manager to help pay off his $400,000 medical debt. They raised $34,870.53.

Just as a reminder, Kent Snyder, the campaign manager in question, died during two weeks after Ron Paul had ended his 2008 presidential campaign. During that campaign, approx. $20 million had been raised for Paul.

Actually, I've come across mentions of provisions under the Affordable Care Act that mandate referral services for referrals between physicians... Haven't looked into that, though.
