Video: Why the Right Should Not Attempt Comedy

Massive wingnut humor fail
Weird • Views: 26,668

“The B.S. of A.” is Glenn Beck’s comedy show, produced for his subscription TV channel, and it’s today’s excruciating example of why wingnut comedy is made of pure fail. Nearly four minutes of heinous non-humor.

Youtube Video

Wingnuts are much funnier when they’re not trying to be.

I watched a different clip the other day. It was the worst 'comedy' I'd seen since Fox News tried doing their comedy show.

Just. Not. Funny. The laugh track wasn't even laughing.

5 SanFranciscoZionist  Fri, Nov 25, 2011 11:59:20am

I got up to a minute and a half.

The 'we'll get you with casinos' joke wasn't very funny even when better comedians did it.

The rest weren't identifiable as jokes.

Does anyone remember a very short-lived American TV comedy called "Thanks"? It was similar, but better written. I think they were trying to do something sort of BBCesque, but the audience wasn't there for it.

Best line, delivered to the eldest daughter of the Puritan family by the son of the French fur trapper--"You have beautiful eyes. May I mount you?"

Do they actually show it like that--ten seconds, followed by "Pilgrim Funnies" music?

Cause that shit is annoying.

10 SanFranciscoZionist  Fri, Nov 25, 2011 12:05:33pm

Sarah Vowell wrote about "Thanks":

“We’re not the kind of people who are easily discouraged by a few snow flurries, a couple of head colds, a 50 percent mortality rate,” cries Winthrop. No doubt named for the Massachusetts Bay Colony’s John Winthrop, who delivered the famous Puritan sermon, “Wee shall be as a Citty upon a Hill,” Winthrop delivers his own speech to cheer up his grumbling fellow citizens:

I have decided in hopes of lifting the spirits of the community to hold a gathering in the shop tonight. Everyone’s invited. There will be music and, well, not dancing, because that’s a sin. It will be a, well, not a party, because that would be wrong. But I assure you we’ll have lots of, well, not fun, because that’s against everything we stand for.

The origin of the cultivated carrot is clearly acknowledged to be purple in colour and in the Afghanistan region mainly because it was known to exist there well before reliable literature references or paintings gave evidence of Western carotene carrots

It is considered that Carrots were originally purple with a thin root, then a mutant occurred which removed the purple pigmentation resulting on a new race of yellow carrots. A tale, probably apocryphal, has it that the orange carrot was bred in the Netherlands in the seventeenth century to honour William of Orange. Though the stabilised and domesticated orange carrot does date from the sixteenth century Netherlands, it is unlikely that honouring
